I'd like to congratulate everybody on resisting the obvious bait that the Inspector dangled in front of us with his Ljungberg/Irons setup...

As much as I'd like to see a player like him at our place, who'll play it forward, run in the right direction and take on a shot every now and again, the idea of signing someone on a 2 or 3 year deal on the wages he'd command would terrify me. The drop from Prem turnover to parachute payment to CCC is going to be even more fatal to clubs that over-extend.

We picked the wrong season to feck it up, didn't we?

For club like us to pay someone £75k a week is quite frankly ludicrous, and will be our downfall, FACT.

He is a cracking player (when fit) but this is our first step to becoming a chelsea (sob sob smiley thingy).

Signing quashie to signing ljunburg in one day! Football really is a funny old game.

Not with our current mob mate.
You've got to be into hip hop, bling bling, wear silly hats (ollie might fit in with this) and live the ghetto lifestyle to fit in with the clique these days.

Had here been here in the early 90's during the bishop/morley era he would have been right at home....

So just released by West Ham, with a £6m pay off, on top of £4m he earned last year.

Got to love this quote as well
"I gave my all at West Ham and enjoyed my time there but the decision is the best for the both of us,"

£85k a week he was on apparently.
    Works out £440k a game we've paid him, £440k a game!!
    Unbelievable

Why have they released him - is it purely financial?

Just spotted him Henry, paying in a wad of backnotes into his post office savings account at New Eltham before he popped into Sparrows Lane with his agent. ;-)
