Do many 'old faces' ever tell Meire what they think?

Does Steve Sutherland ever bend her ear.......what about ex-directors etc?
Has anyone any knowledge of well established faces from the lounges telling her what they think.....surely somewhere along the line she's been taken to task by someone in full view of others?
Has anyone first hand knowledge of any such confrontation?
What is the general feeling on match days towards her....frosty.....indifferent....hostile......or even (god forbid), cordial?
Looking at the directors box nowadays, one hell of a lot of old faces are no longer to be seen, many of whom are conspicuous by their absence!

I have to attend a sponsors match once a season and all the ex players that host us have not shown any hostility towards her.
In fact I will not name names but what I have seen appears to be the opposite, all jokes, smiles and banter.0 -
At the Burnley protest game at the end of the relegation season, there certainly seemed to be plenty of support from the directors box including some of the familiar faces you mention. I seem to remember there being reports of a former director being forceably removed from the box after the game when he wanted to stay and applaud the protesters.4

I know one ex-director has told her to her face ; - )
She has no interest in what anyone but Roland thinks. He knows best and as she said Roland will run the club his way and we customers just have to accept it.
She is incapable of learning from dissenting voices as she feels they point out her lack of knowledge and skills (impostor syndrome) and so surrounds her self with sycophantic yes men such a Cajones and North Cyprus Joyes

Think so. Although I couldn't say for certain.SoundAsa£ said:

Aren't many of the names mentioned on the payroll one way or the other?
If 'yes' then they are unlikely to raise their heads above the parapet4 -
Really, employees not taking their boss to task in full view of others ? Whatever next ?LenGlover said:Aren't many of the names mentioned on the payroll one way or the other?

Very disappointing replies thus far......was hoping for some revealing stuff.....can only say I'm both surprised and disappointed, there must surely be someone who can explain what the general feelings are back in the VIP lounges and how Meire is viewed and handled in their company.0

The one person who was/is in a position to act as a check and balance for Meire against the worst excesses of the Duchatelet vision being imposed upon Charlton chose not to do so.
That person is Richard Murray.
Not only that but he seemed/seems to act as a surrogate Duchatelet.
Duchatelet once said it was 'his job' (or words to that effect) to defend Meire.
In the early press conferences look how quickly Murray jumps in to defend her - the 'its just a message board thing' being a prime example when she started to look uncomfortable talking about the level of protests.
I don't think people in the game generally do make adverse comments about owners/directors which makes Yann Kermorgant's comment 'I think they have ruined the club' all the more extraordinary.
Would like to have been a fly on the wall at conversations between Meire and Jose Riga. If ever there was a man who wanted to tell it like it is but for some reason is constrained then it's him.
Finally, at Boardroom level the FA have rules which are intended to prevent club officials making disparaging public comments about officials/directors/owners of other clubs. This is what prevented the Cheltenham Town programme editor from going fully to town about the failings of the Charlton ownership at the start of last season when we went there in the League Cup. I can't remember the exact words in the prog but he apologised in print for not being able to put what he had originally intended on orders from the club (or something similar).
Elsewhere, had Exeter City been promoted then I am certain that Meire would have received a cordial reception in the Board Room but she would have felt the frisson nevertheless from those running this fan-based club who know more than most what it is to be run by owners who do not have the best interests of the club at heart but instead have their own agenda.

She is probably quite the flirt.
She will be really nice when you first meet her. It would be quite easy to get along with her.
If you go the opposite way and you are not taken in by the charm she naturally intends to impose. Then she will rather quickly be someone on the list of people she hates...and she will act on it.
That's both men and women.
You hear a lot of things from people. She's either really really nice....or she's rather particularly cold and very much wants to piss on you.
I guess it's you treat her well and not question her, she will probably be nice to you in return.
You question anything about her, unless it's a tick box exercise, if she can, she will just instantly throw you out and dispose of you.
She is the CEO of the club.2 -
You can look at this the other way and ask why none of these people, including those on the payroll, speak up for the regime in public. In reality the vast majority of people associated with the club behind the scenes over the last 20 years and still around regard the regime as bonkers - and everybody around the club knows it. CARD, etc, has never been a narrow insurgency. Its views are the orthodoxy.12
