Offer made for the club-don't get excited

I mentioned this on another thread but guess that it would be lost on there to many.
Richard Murray told Martin Simons that Sam Hammam (look him up) called Roland and offered him a quid.
I find this interesting on a number of levels. Sam has a record of success in football and clearly understands why there are protests, so makes a mockery of that claim. Given the state we are in, he also has a better understanding of the value of the club than Roland.
How did he get to put his offer to Roland when varney didn't?
This gives yet another lie to the claim that we are not for sale.

Just because somone offered a pound doesn't mean we are for sale.
Though we probably are.1 -
That he spoke to a potential buyer knowing he was a potential buyer tells me it is.Swisdom said:Just because somone offered a pound doesn't mean we are for sale.

It doesn't say that - it says he called him and made an offer. I could do that. Doesn't mean we are for sale.Henry Irving said:

Or did he get through the gatekeeper in SE7 and was given the number to ring/was rung because he was willing to buy the club.

We know where he lives, works and socialises. I am pretty sure people with plenty of money have access to this kind of info. Hammam is well connected (and largely loathed too I believe)Henry Irving said:

Hammam seems to the sort of chairman who likes to be the centre of attention, sooner have someone like Parish at Palace who just gets on with the job.
