I'd rest Hudson - and maybe even Fortune - and give some youngsters a go at CB. As our only two recognised CB's we can't afford for either of them to get injured!

play Semedo at CH alongside an other and give Moo2 game time at RB. Agree withall the rest though Steve.

I reckon we should play as strong a side as possible, keep the side consistent and though that won't be possible after they've played 12-15 games, as some will need a rest, building up momentum and a healthy points tally early is a good idea IMHO. This may not be league, but gelling the core areas is key to us really hitting the ground running.

He was for Saturday only.

Reserve team players only.

It's only Yeovil and it doesen't matter if we win or not, it's not our priority this season,if we do win we will only get beaten at a later stage.

We need to get the defence playing as a unit and avoid chopping and changing for the sake of it, besides this is only the second match of the season.

I'd bring Bouazza and Holland in and rest Shelvey, plus I presume Bouazza has acquired to play.

Upfront I'd give Dickson a run-out with Varney.

Weaver needs games so must play.

Shelvey needs a game against a lesser team to get a bit of confidence.

Bouzza will need a reserve game before a Championship match so this will do nicely.

Back four was a big plus on Saturday so play them again to get them accustomed to one another, possibly Moo2 at right back and put Semedo in midfield.

Dont see the point of dropping players who didnt play as well on Saturday so would keep Sam in, same reason as Shelvey, and play Bouzza on the other side.

Likewise, Varney and Gray need games together, and Gray needs to do at least half the work Varney does.

ALAN Pardew says his Charlton side will be taking tomorrow night's visit of Yeovil in the Carling Cup seriously.

The Addicks chief maybe forgiven for viewing the competition and a game against League One opponents as a distraction from his main aim of securing promotion this year.

However, Pardew is determined Charlton will be fully committed despite hinting at a few minor changes from the team which kicked off the Championship campaign on Saturday with a 2-0 win against Swansea.

He said: "Of course the Carling Cup is very serious for us because the finance which comes from a good cup run will help me.

"It is a competition which Championship sides have not really done well in, so we hope to do well.

"But I'm going to have to play a couple of my players because Matty Holland and Bouazza both need a game, so I am going to change the side.

Maybe he'll play Weaver if fully fit for match sharpness but any doubts about fitness, and he won't be risked.

Bouazza & Holland start - because Pards has already said so. Not sure about Shelvey, think he'll be on the bench.

Dickson & Fleetwood bound to be involved - but he'll want Varney on to find the net.
He should've scored in the last minute on Sat, lacked the control, & composure to walk it round the keeper like Gray, Toddy or even Dickson would have done.
