Proper footballer has a tattoo sleeve.
Seriously though, it could be quite entertaining seeing him and Holmes in the same side.

Good luck to him, hope he does well.

Always thought of him as a decent player but can't say I've followed him closely.

One player in so far so far too early to see the jigsaw picture clearly.

At least he has experience in this division and fills a role where we need a player.

  • Well: he surely can't be as damp a squib as Novak has been so far. Good luck to him.

Is Novak our most disappointing signing since Barry Endean?

This year will be the worst yet.... a total disaster and for the first time a 100% disconnection between players, management, board, club and supporters ultimately it will culminate in us going down.

Or Roland will leave and the place will go mental and begin to thrive in ways we though not possible.

  • Why have Bradford let him go? Seems odd that a side who made the play offs would let a guy go who was a regular part of their team

Who knows how he's going to shape up as an Addick.
You only have to look at any number of players that have left us who we've been glad to see the back of and have turned out to be successful elsewhere.
I welcome him and hope he proves to be a great signing.
  • I thought he looked a cut above for League 1 at Crawley but he was often subbed after 70 mins or so. He has a lot of skill, can score and can makes goals. He can disappear from a game sometimes.

    Perfectly acceptable signing

We do seem to be giving very short contracts now. Holmes, Magennis and now Clarke have all just been 2 years

It does seem bizarre that the deadwood from previous seasons will potentially still be here after these newer signings have left...

Must be a typo, hes 29 so KM must have given him a 22 year deal.

    Are Bradford fans unhappy?

Well, they live in Bradford. What do you think?

This drives me mad. Let us give him a chance. Would this constant slagging off of new players be happening if the owners were somebody we supported? Or is it just a chance to slag off the owner and CEO? via their signings. I have seen Billy Clarke play a number of times and he is a skilful clever player. His goal scoring record is not great, but he is an enabler more than a goalscorer. Let us see who else comes in.

I think we should retire the No 10 shirt to save money

I think there has been slagging off of players before they have kicked a ball long before Duchatelet, certainly since the creation of social media.

I agree we should give him a chance like every player but this isn't particular to this regime or even this club. Look at other social media sites and there are the same moans especially when clubs are doing badly as we've been for over a decade.

He's getting slagged off because we just see a procession of sub-par players entering through the door .Given with a few exceptions, the vast majority have not been an improvement (someone mentioned Novak earlier, but the list is pretty long if you think about it) - and this just stinks of another one imo - we're just fed up with 'giving them a chance' .

Ah. Thought we'd signed Billy Sharp. Never mind.
Welcome, Billy Clarke. Alas, I, and many, won't be watching you. That's the way it is around here.
Nice fried potatoes, though. Get stuck in. Generous portions, so I hear.

I saw him play for Crawley a few times when they were doing well in L1. He has a good touch and is quite classy at times but he can fade when it gets tough or physical.

He too , I've got his match shirt somewhere, he's not the tallest

I'm going to reserve judgement till I've watched him play a few games.

Reading this thread is like the Magennis one last year, not good enough, crap record etc etc and he turned out ok!!

Billy may well turn out to be yet another poor signing but let's not completely write him off before he has even kicked a ball in a Charlton shirt.

Just a word about media releases. They are written by staff who specialise in writing such material. They write the quotes for the management person whose name then appears in the papers or on BBC/Sky etc. Slagging off KM all the time is getting very boring.

Spoke to his dad today, he (his dad) was not aware of the situation at Charlton, or who the owner was. That doesn't mean Billy doesn't know. Mentioned that Billy and his wife had just bought a house in Bradford and that shes not too happy with this move, but that Billy was out of contract and as hes turning 30 this year the 2 (plus a third year option apparently) year contract on offer from Charlton (with a sizable salary increase) was too good to turn down.

Anybody got some honest assessment of the guy as Idon't know anythingabout him. Are Bradford fans unhappy?

Bradford fans are generally pleased he's off.

Comments ranging from I'll drive him there myself, we've robbed them if they are paying a fee, to it's probably best for all parties.

He may be decent, but he's no Reeves. He can't shoot like Reeves.
I remember us (myself included) saying that about Fox.

Maybe a change of scene could be good
