That's not a Charlton training top. They've just put him in a standard Hummel top as they don't want to give away the new kit design1
-
Neither. I want to moan. They'd both look shit in the training kit anyway.NapaAddick said:General question...
If we could have David Ball or Ben Reeves come here, who would you pick and why?
Ok I'll play ...... I'd prefer Maddison from Posh but probably Reeves over Ball
2 -
Well the thing is, KR has been banging on about Reeves since January. He has been saying how much he wants to sign him, what a great no 10 he is & the major toys out the pram moment re another club was to do with Reeves and MKD.Swisdom said:This place is unbelievable
1 new signing and we've managed to slag off the new training kit, the signing and Katrien
Impressive.
Yet now apparently Clarke was always our first choice no 10.
Please Charlton just tell the truth or learn how to lie.12 -
Welcome Billy. First time I had ever heard of him was about 2 days ago, haven't watched any YouTube videos and none of my mates are Bradford fans. Hope he is more Stephens than Koc and that he is first of many.2
-
Primary target in that position my arse.3
-
I'm just bitter that we've gone from an autonomous football club (however dysfunctional), to being a cardboard cutout of a franchise whose only objective is to put out a first XI twice a week in the cheapest possible way (and cash in on anyone vaguely talented as soon as possible)Swisdom said:This place is unbelievable

Watched him emerge from Youth team to 1st team at Ipswich Town and was surprised when they let him go - thought he had bags of talent, just didn't find the net as often as they needed him too.Athletico Charlton said:Welcome Billy. He is very left footed and I just hope he's not been brought in to replace a departing Ricky Holmes.
Time will tell but he's a very capable footballer.7 -
^ interesting insight. Thanks.0

Billy can be the new Simon Church and get plenty of stick from the remaining 5 fans in the North Lower.3
-
But they couldn't manage to get the deal for your arse over the line, and have signed Clarke instead?????Clem_Snide said:Primary target in that position my arse.

Personally I preferred the good old days when players with exotic names and exciting YouTube videos were plucked from remote lower leagues around the world and offered six year contracts. There was at least that magical few weeks of positive expectation before you realised they were complete crap.13
-
Over the line? They couldn't see the bloody line!NornIrishAddick said:

On the bright side at least we have A signing
i dont think its a bad one but its not really getting me excited in anyway.
Still its a start...0 -
Certainly not the type of signing that will turn us into promotion candidates.0
-
And don't forget that Holmes will be like a new signing if he signs, and Kashi will be, if they can find him.
Oh and obviously Tony watt too as his attitude has changed since his move to being a film critic. That's another new one. So really, Clarke is more like a 3rd first team signing with Holmes to come.8 -
You've forgotten Naby Sarr. He will be hailed as our marquee signing. It's like signing Paolo Maldini and Bobby Moore rolled in to one.Super_Eddie_Youds said:And don't forget that Holmes will be like a new signing if he signs, and Kashi will be, if they can find him.

I reckon we need to sell Watt, Ajose, Novak, Teixeira
Sign Martin, Marshall, Clarke, RB, LB, CM, CAM, LW, RW, ST minimum
Phillips, Martin
Solly, RB
Page, LB
Bauer, Pearce, Konsa, Lennon, Sarr
Crofts, Forster-Caskey, Aribo, Jackson, CM, CAM
Holmes, Marshall, Clarke, Ceballos LW, RW
Magennis, Vetokele, ST
Umerah, Hanlan, Dijksteel, Beeney, Barnes all to get squad time too
Not a title winning squad though, we'd need 20 signings for that2 -
Don't disagree but no chance that will happen ^^^0

Bring Marcus Maddison in from Peterborough as one of those LW / RW's if we're serioussam3110 said:I reckon we need to sell Watt, Ajose, Novak, Teixeira

Or we could take a small risk and sign Roarie Deacon from Sutton1 -

You've got 31 names down there; do you really believe that we will have a squad that big? Imagine the salary level, especially if Igor, Ceballos, Jackson, Bauer, and Sarr are still around? It's not going to happen, so please lower your sights...sam3110 said:I reckon we need to sell Watt, Ajose, Novak, Teixeira

I expect Sarr, Vetokele, Watt, Konsa, Bauer, Holmes, Texeira, and Ajose to all have left SE7 by the end of August. We may bring in a few cheap alternatives, but the rest will be covered off by Barnes, Beeney, Djiksteel, Hanlan, Ahearne-Grant, Lapslie, etc...0 -
I see Yaya Sonogo released by Arsenal and Conor Macaleney (sorry about the spelling)released by Everton, two old loanees available. Both of course set the world on fire at the Valley.0
-
McAleny I'd consider at this level as he's not done badly with Wigan | Oxford (almost like a Kerkar signing)addickfanatic said:I see Yaya Sonogo released by Arsenal and Conor Macaleney (sorry about the spelling)released by Everton, two old loanees available. the Everton fella made spongefoot look like he had a powerful shot and made Bradley Allen look like Duncan Ferguson
one of the worst loans we've had (and he has some competition) as you can probably tell, it's a no from me0 -
I'd take Sanogo on again. That hatrick was class!6

I think that was one of the worst hat tricks ever seenTaxi_Lad said:I'd take Sanogo on again. That hatrick was class!

Dunno looked like he'd improved his technique when he visited the Valley with Oxford last season...Elthamaddick said:the Everton fella made spongefoot look like he had a powerful shot and made Bradley Allen look like Duncan Ferguson
