Is he actually looking at anyone or have we got more loans and 2nd rate imports?

To be fair they haven't brought in overseas signings last season or this one - so far. At least two that chipping away at getting done.1 -
7/1 has to be worth a gamble.ForeverAddickted said:According to SkyBet we're 7/1 to be relegated next season
9/4 to earn a top six finish and 11/2 to get promoted (16/1 to win the League)0 -
Hopefully they will be chipping a bit harder.7

Hopefully they will be in Chipping Norton and not here.1

Journalist on Twitter saying Lindsay of Partick looking likely you end up at Oxford.4

@reluctantNicko Oxford close to Liam Lindsay deal. Fee ok with Patrick Thistle. Down to big lad to decide and sign on.0

Outbid by Oxford.1

If we can be outbid by Oxford it just goes to show how little interest Roland has in backing Robinson for promotion. The Red Robin said:Outbid by Oxford.

No, only Kocs, T. Watts and Fannis.ricky_otto said:8 -
Lindsay fits the profile of buy young and sell on for a profit one or two years later.
Can't see why his nose is being turned up if the reported 350k fee is true.1 -
I'm glad you didn't use the word that would have been in reference to Roger Johnson.Scoham said:

Because it is a signing that makes sense.Callumcafc said:Lindsay fits the profile of buy young and sell on for a profit one or two years later.

350k is such a steal for a player in the Scottish Premier League Team of the Year. They were willing to pay more for Moncur last summer ffs.cfgs said:

You've got to think something else is at play here if we're not serious about matching Oxford's bid.1 - Sponsored links:

Which doesn't fill me with hope seeing as we need around 5 or 6 new players, mainly being a goalkeeper, a left back, 2/3 decent midfielders & a goalscorer that will get us out of the godforsaken league.Henry Irving said:Richard Cawley @RichCawleySLP 59m59 minutes ago

We need a minimum of 6 new players if we are serious about challenging for promotion.
So far we have Billy Clarke.
The clock is ticking Katie, pre season is almost upon us.

Chipping away?
When Karl was asked if he knew the problem, and what needed to be done, he smiled and said 'oh yes', twice, like the Churchill dog.
We supposedly wanted things sorted before he went away, a full set up in time for Ireland, fresh and hopeful. We were to come back early, have a cold shower and hit the ground running.
It is great to have dreams, even if you're a football manager.
What I think Slade and Karl have in common, along with maybe the other managers too, is that they half believed, and were half persuaded that they would get supported in what they wanted, assurances and reassurances and all.
The problem you have when the prospects seem enticing, is you fail to hear the verbal small print as it were.
Stuff gets couched and diluted. Lookman money equals training ground, being patient means no credible midfield, financial support means not paying juicy transfer fees when there is a Roger Johnson style alternative.
There was talk about a year ago during the Wilder shenanigans that the manager should blimmin well 'get it in writing'!
To me it still seems to hold true. For all Rolands financial power play and fast jets to Belgium, for all Katriens surface charm, the manager is kicked out of the fast jet and told to get by on his Oyster card, and the surface charm turns out to be applied by a skilled make up artist to hide the carbuncles.27 -
