Probably right on the others but I can't see anyone shifting Solly out of our team for a long time, either till he loses it or someone higher up takes him.MKDinpeace said:
To be fair, I don't think that journo has a clue either. That ITK twitter account is right 99% of the time - he mentioned that Martin was going to Charlton about a month ago. Also mentioned we were signing a Dutch keeper a week before it was announced and has been right numerous other times. I'm leaning towards Reeves staying at MK with a bit more negotiation.cafc_harry said:

This wonderful, epic saga continues......
We need him really, Charlton's squad as it stands looks good for promotion and KR has been there. Marshall a very good L1 signing, hopefully you can keep Holmes - if you do I'd say you were firm favourites for top 6.
The only players of ours that could get into Charlton's first team are Williams (right back - our POTY), Aneke (attacking mid), Cissé (defensive mid) and Reeves.0 -
Aaron Barnes can be thrown into your mix.

MKD played some lovely stuff at the Valley in the league game last season, although we were almost absurdly shit3

When did all this 'No.10 role / false 9' nonsense creep into football??10

Straight after the "outside left" and "inside right" nonsense my old man keeps going on about.AFKABartram said:When did all this 'No.10 role / false 9' nonsense creep into football??

Good point, added him and Dijksteel because they're both in Ireland. Given they have about 5 league minutes between them they're still very much on the fringes, but they seem to be players looking to make the step up this year.seth plum said:Aaron Barnes can be thrown into your mix.

It was after Clarke came in. KR also said he wants 2 for every position, he clearly wants Reeves given he started talking about him back in January.Chris_from_Sidcup said:

I thought KR said that we would have some news to get excited about this weekend.
He keeps on saying things like this without delivering on them .
It's an annoying habit and I wish he would stop.11 -
Where has he said this? Just wondering because I haven't seen or heard thisblackpool72 said:I thought KR said that we would have some news to get excited about this weekend.

He said he hoped there would be things to announce.0

He said there might be, he didn't promise as some in twitter are claiming and in any case it's Karl so take it with a pinch of salt.blackpool72 said:I thought KR said that we would have some news to get excited about this weekend.

Said the below on the squad list thread a few days ago.
Goalkeepers
Dillon Phillips 2018
need one in
Right Backs
Chris Solly 2020
probably need one although Barnes seems to be considered part of the squad
Centre Backs
Harry Lennon 2018
Patrick Bauer 2019
Jason Pearce 2020 - Contract extension from 2019
Ezri Konsa 2020
Jorge Teixeira 2020
Naby Sarr 2020
We have enough here although can see Tex and or Bauer leaving in which case they need replacing. Lose Sarr
Left Backs
Lewis Page 2019
Need one minimum where's Chicksen?
Central Midfielders
Andrew Crofts 2018
Johnnie Jackson 2018 (Player/First Team Coach)
Ahmed Kashi 2018
Joe Aribo 2019
Jake Forster-Caskey 2019
depending on how Kashi is viewed within the squad and whether he is around this year we may have enough. 1 more needed of Kashi isn't there.
Wide Midfielders
Ricky Holmes 2018
Cristian Ceballos 2018
Mark Marshall 2019 - Signed from Bradford City as free agent
Terique Fosu 2019 - Signed from Reading for undisclosed fee
pretty happy with this. Personally I'd lose Ceballos and sign Stewart
Number 10/CAM
Billy Clarke 2019 - Signed from Bradford City for undisclosed fee
Need one more (ease be Reeves)
Strikers
Josh Magennis 2018
Tony Watt 2018
Lee Novak 2019
Karlan Ahearne-Grant 2019
Nicky Ajose 2019
Igor Vetokele 2019 - Loaned to STVV for 2017/8 season
Unsure on this one. On the face of it we have numbers but only really Magennis and Novak fit KR's system. I reckon KAG will be used more out wide in that system. So can only teally justify one squad place for Watt or Ajose if a different system is favoured.
So I make that:
GK (Martin?)
Rb (if Barnes not ready, isn't Wilson available?)
Lb (maybe 2, Dasilva, is Edwards ready?)
CB if Tex or Bauer leave
CM if Kashi not ready or not around
Winger (Stewart)
No 10 (Please Reeves)
Striker (and lose one of Ajose/Watt)
Dumbing down my expectations because time is getting on and there seems to be a distinct lack of activity I reckon we need:
Gk
LB
Winger
10
Reckon Barnes and Konsaa will be rb cover, seems like Bauer and Tex will be here until their contracts run down. They're making a lot of Kashi so I assume he will be here.
Mavididi would be a good acquisition as he played mostly his games for us out wide last year but he could be 3rd choice for the lone striker role in the 4231 behind Magennis and Novak. As I think Watt/Ajose will be used as impact subs or if we want to change formation.
I'd be very happy with
Martin
DaSilva
Stewart (or another)
Reeves
Mavididi
7 -
So a squad of
Phillips Martin
Solly Barnes
DaSilva Page
Pearce Bauer Lennon Konsa Tex
JFC Konsa Kashi Aribo Crofts Jackson
Holmes Marshall Fosu Mavididi KAG
Clarke Reeves
Magennis Novak Mavididi
Ajose Watt
Lose: Sarr Ceballos and maybe Tex0 -
Can't see Ajose hanging around to be 4th choice (or 5th if we sign Mavididi)0

Perhaps he was talking about Lukaku joining Man U! Or maybe it was about Rooney going to Everton!Henry Irving said:

Separately Fosu and Kashi were doing extra training/ ball work after 23's game yesterday.0 -
I agree. But given the type of player he is and the formation and system we know Karl favours I cant see him being any more than an impact sub if we want a finished for the last half an hour or maybe starting the odd game if we go 2 up top.Chris_from_Sidcup said:Can't see Ajose hanging around to be 4th choice (or 5th if we sign Mavididi)

So I gather you don't have a strong view on whether Robinson should implement his No. 10 as an Italian trequartista, free to roam into the half spaces and flanks with little defensive responsibility, or the Argentinian enganche who tends to hold his position in the hole to act as a pivot to his more mobile team mates?AFKABartram said:When did all this 'No.10 role / false 9' nonsense creep into football??
