The thing is when could Roland actually even attend a game even if he wanted to?
It's almost an impossible situation, if he turns up the club could have a riot on it's hands and if he doesn't turn up the clock of absence keeps on ticking, all his own doing of course.1 -
Respect the fact your not looking for an argument @luke1 . Genuine question - don't you think criticising/blaming CARD is treating the symptoms and not the problem? If so, how can you justify that as the correct stance to take?luke1 said:Nah I'm with Holmes, stop it. CARD has done more damage than Roland in my opinion. Roland won't be around forever but The fans CARD have pursuaded to stay away or fans fed up with match day protests might be lost forever. Not here for an argument, Just my opinion.

I never went to one game last season after 60 years supporting my club.
Card did not in any influence me , it was the shambles the previous season
and the lack of decent management that stoped me going.20 -

I hear we had 5,800 season ticket holders last year. If management was gone and SCP was back.... anyone venture a guess at how many would be sold? Double?1

Transfers please.
P.s CARD have definitely persuaded some people to stay away.0 -

Okay more so people supporting CARD have in fairness.
It's been a case of those supporting CARD shaming fans for not only attending but also buying any food or drink for their families at the same time.
Not saying I have a problem with it.0 - Sponsored links:

All been a hoax I'm afraid. Holmes is joining Walford FC. Speaking to manager Robbie as we speak.2 -

I went on-line to book a hotel for Exeter away (yes, I know). Booking.com told me the previous booking for the same hotel had been made from Belgium. I'll keep a look out.....1 -
Another sad truth is a lot of season ticket holders won't return. They will have found other things to do with their Saturdays. I think it will be a lot of people too.

Well, we all figured that by now both Konsa and Holmes would be gone.
Instead, we've re-sign Holmes, still have Konsa and have added a couple of quality players.
If we get Reeves and Martin, this would be a shockingly good window compared to expectations.2 -
No @NapaAddick "we" didn't all think that at all. Please don't transpose your views on othersNapaAddick said:Well, we all figured that by now both Konsa and Holmes would be gone.

Another derail as ever. Save Card debate for another thread please
Great news, squad coming together. Just waiting for the clearout0 -
Martin hasn't gone back to Ireland. I wonder if we're looking elsewhere for a first choice keeper or if that was more to do with him not being insured to play games.
I think Martin would be an ok signing but he isn't going to be one of the best keepers in the league i.e. Rudd or Hamer level. I expect would could attract better.2 -
People just can't admit that KM could do something right.. it's almost as if she isn't the devil0

Heed Johnny's wise words please. This is a thread for the football side, specifically Charlton rumours.johnnybev1987 said:Another derail as ever. Save Card debate for another thread please

Says in here that Martin 'didn't travel' do we take that as back to Ireland after the weekend or just to the game?0 -
I take that as not going up to Ireland. That could mean that they're far apart on a deal, or it could mean a deal is very close and he stayed behind to finalize things (either contractually or personally).cafc_harry said:http://www.cafcpicks.com/cgi-bin/drkish/display.pl?month=201707&date=20170710&time=2340

Looking at the squad we currently have the following:
GK - Phillips
FB - Solly, Barnes, Page
CB - Bauer, Konsa, Tex, Lennon, Sarr, Pearce
CM - Kashi, Crofts, Jackson, JFC, Aribo
Attacking midfielders - Holmes, Marshall, Fosu, Clarke, Ceballos
Strikers - Watt, KAG, Magennis, Novak, Ajose
Likes of Kennedy, Umerah, Hanlan, Charles-Cook and Dijksteel in reserve too.
Everyone calling for the GK (Martin), LB (Da Silva) and AM (Reeves) to sign to complete the squad.
That would mean a squad of 28 players plus the mentioned youngsters. It is turning into a good window but I do worry that we need to shift a few. I just hope we don't fail to offload the unwanted and end up panic selling someone like Konsa for a fraction of the price he should go for.
Martin
Solly, Bauer, Pearce, Da Silva
Kashi, JFC
Marshall, Reeves, Holmes
Magennis
Phillips
Barnes, Konsa, Lennon, Page
Crofts, Aribo
Fosu, Clarke, Ceballos
Watt
Would be very happy with the above '2 teams" with Jackson, KAG and Novak completing the full squad. Think it would get us promoted as long as the strikers can get the goals. Would personally bring in another striker and get rid of Watt, wouldn't be surprised if that happens come January. Don't think we need another RB as I would have Konsa there above Barnes if Solly is out.
Would mean Tex, Sarr and Ajose leaving.

We all thought Henry Irving would have taken over as owner by now.Henry Irving said:

The Belgians have done us no favours for the future of CAFC in my(and thousands of others) opinion.luke1 said:
As I explained, I think telling fans to stay away will result in fans lost forever. People will find better ways to spend there Saturdays. Don't have the answers but not attending has done no favours for the future of cafc in my oppinion. Anyway this is transfer rumour thread, I know my opinion isn't shared by most of you, but I'll be the first to put my hands up if I'm wrong and ppl do come back once his gone.jamesking93 said:

Yeah I don't like Roland as much as anyone else, but I don't agree with the manner of the protests. Not the only one bud, quite a few of us.blackpool72 said:

The clearout begins in 2020, when Sarr and Teixeira come to the end of their contracts.johnnybev1987 said:Another derail as ever. Save Card debate for another thread please

11-12,000 if they played it right.NapaAddick said:I hear we had 5,800 season ticket holders last year. If management was gone and SCP was back.... anyone venture a guess at how many would be sold? Double?

She's not exactly in credit is she. Three years and one decent move. Let's call the protests off.Floebot said:People just can't admit that KM could do something right.. it's almost as if she isn't the devil
I'll wait and see what happens the rest of the summer first. The squad is still short of what's needed to compete for promotion and that's without cashing in on Konsa which is bound to happen before the end of the season.2 -
Can see Tex staying to be honest. No other club is going to pay that salary and if we're going to subsidise his wages just so he can leave, then we might as well keep him.cafcfan1990 said:Looking at the squad we currently have the following:

Think KR will play Sarr and Ceballos quite a bit pre season so he can make a decision on them.
Ajose just doesn't fit the style KR wants to play so he'll surely leave.0 -
