Shelvey perhaps?
Or Varney out wide instead of Sam, but probably better to give him good run to prove himself up front.

    Is Basey definitely out or was his hamstring a Ryan Giggs type injury? i.e. one that clears up by the following weekend confounding all medical opinion?

    If Bailey was experienced at this level I would agree, but he is not so I'd opt for Vice-captain Cleanshorts.

    ZZ would be a great option if ready to play, but the WBA deal sounds all tied up bar the work-permit, which has perhaps been applied for already - given he is captain of China, they'll get it.

    he has a work permit till 2010 I believe.

    but the work permit belongs to Charlton and is non-transferable; any other potential employer needs to apply for their own permit.
