Nice one @moutuakilla thanks a lot3
-
Thanks. Interesting to see. I had the same sinking feeling reading this as I had when I read the fixture list. This really is not a high quality league. Depressing.2
-
I know that quantity and quality are two different things but only Southend have signed fewer players than us.0
-
And two of their signings are Turner and Kightly, who could be very handy at this levelbbob said:I know that quantity and quality are two different things but only Southend have signed fewer players than us.

A lot depends on how many players have been sold/released as well. I guess you could almost class Sarr as a new signing as wellbbob said:I know that quantity and quality are two different things but only Southend have signed fewer players than us.

Let's see at the end of the season how many of these players were good and influential in their teams season and how many went unnoticed.
As bbob said quantity and quality.0 -
Didn't Bury sign Jermaine Beckford too1
-
Outrageous signing. He was unplayable in that playoff final game for Preston 2 years ago.uie2 said:Didn't Bury sign Jermaine Beckford too

Kashi will be like a new signing too.killerandflash said:

Looking through that list, nothing really sticks out. Blackburn have signed Dack and Whittingham, Pompey have signed Pitman while Southend have signed Turner and Kightly. Edit - James Henry at Oxford is a good signing too.
I don't think much else stands out being honest it's an awful league and quite possibly the lowest standard of teams this time or last time around when we were in League 1.
It does make me laugh when some say we're missing out on players to Bury or Oxford. We never needed much change to the first team we just needed a few players here and there and a bit more depth. Even with the players Bury and Oxford have signed I don't see either contending for promotion.
I think we have enough to get through August if it's going to take us upto deadline day to finish our signings but another keeper in ASAP is a must.4 -

Are 25% of all their new signings already injured?0 -
The object of the exercise is to build a winning team from a balanced squad and it's not a question of how many players have been signed it's also important to look at who is already there.0
-
True but when the manager said 40% of the players didn't care some of them must still be here.letthegoodtimesroll said:The object of the exercise is to build a winning team from a balanced squad and it's not a question of how many players have been signed it's also important to look at who is already there.
Either we can't get rid of them, he was exaggerating or he has somehow changed their attitude so they do care.0 -
Oxford seem to be replacing all the players they have lost rather than strengthening.
Rotherham have lost a few players as well.
Bury thought they had signed more players than that.
Shrewsbury are a surprise amount of signings.0 -
Peterborough also signed Ricky Miller who may get them a goal or two.1

If a manager has unmotivated staff then he's part of the problem for that and needs to change things either in what he does or doesn't do or identify and sort out the problem if it's elsewhere. it could be one or two individuals within the group were the cause of the dissatisfaction for the '40%' that he was referring to if that was the case, not everybody in a group is a leader and the simple act of moving them on or even just bringing one person in completely changes the dynamics of the whole group. Targeted changes improve things, not Wholesale changesScoham said:

Misses the first 6 games for biting, classy. Was this the guy we supposedly bid for after they signed him?harveys_gardener said:Peterborough also signed Ricky Miller who may get them a goal or two.

Unless you sign 18 players in pre season and go on to get 101 points to win the league.letthegoodtimesroll said:

To be fair to him the opposing player had put him in a headlock and the biting was because he wanted to get out of it - If true I dont blame him for that reactionmoutuakilla said:

Signing that many players and doing exceptionally well tends to suggest, to me anyway and what do I know, that youd have to have got very lucky with one of them that changed the whole dynamics and became the key component that brought everything together and picked the others up, possibly by example, when it wasn't working for it to have worked out so well.alan dugdale said:

Changing the subject I think bowyer and Jackson could turn out to be KR's masterstroke for this season if the approach they had on the pitch is applied to coaching0 -

Can add Jack Payne to Oxford.
I think that Bury will do very well. Considering they very nearly went down last season, they definitely got players who can score at this level.2 -
Yeah, let's hope they bring a smile to Lee Clark's face.0

If everyone could complete their signings within the next half an hour that would be great. From that point on I can no longer edit the original post and therefore they don't count #thewindowisslammingshut2

Great job on this thread. Very handy useful guide. Notable that only Oldham have made fewer signings.moutuakilla said:If everyone could complete their signings within the next half an hour that would be great. Can admin do something & make this a sticky or something ?

Have to admit am interested to see how Liam Nash does @ Gillingham.
Their fans have been raving about him after he scored 37-goals for Maldon & Tiptree last season1 -
My god Gillingham have signed some shite. They must be a shoe in to go down0
-
Makes you wonder why Wright seems happy to be at the club instead of really trying to get a move away. Still believe he would be a great addition to our midfield, cover for Kashi and Forster-Caskey.Greenie Junior said:My god Gillingham have signed some shite. They must be a shoe in to go down
