Student matchday tickets

First year I will not be having a season ticket in a long time, however I would like to attend the game on Saturday and noticed they now offer a student ticket for £10. I'm studying ACCA with work and have a student NUS card. Any one know if i am entitled to the student rate or if this applies to full time students only? Cheers!!

    Who will know either way?
  • If you have an NUS extra card you can get the student ticket.

Source: It's what I did last year.
  • Though I did get them online and nobody checked.....

My impression was that it was full time students only, (I've been doing a Master's so am in that category at the moment) but if you have an NUS card, that should be fine I imagine

Not that I've ever been asked for proof
  • Cheers!! Thought I'd check incase anyone else had any difficulties getting in.

The grey beard and reminiscing about Hales and Paddy might raise suspicions

I have an NUS card valid for the next 3 years even though I've left uni this year.

All you need is an NUS card. That proves you are entitled to a student discount wherever it is offered.

I was a student 30 years ago and my son is now a student and he looks vaguely like me although he has flowing long hair and I'm an old baldy git. If I buy a student ticket online and try to blag it but on the offchance a jobsworth asks me for id and I show him my son's student pass from last year will I be ok?

Is that about the size of it?

I've never been asked to see ID. I know that some get in on the £5 kids tickets whilst looking 45 yrs old and bald.

Can a 51 year old with grey hair get in on a senior citizens ticket?
  • Can a 51 year old with grey hair get in on a senior citizens ticket?

    My guess is it's either

    a) No, the electronic gates installed at charlton are actually quite sophisticated and by the time you've put the ticket on the barcode scanner everything about you has been assessed using an algorithm first developed for NASA and your approximate date of birth, usually accurate to withiin 3 days has been calculated and lots of flashing lights go off if anybody tries to use a ticket they are not entitled to; or

    b) it's a piece of paper that nobody sees except you. who is going to check ?
