On the panel are 2 ex players & the ref who was in charge for the play off game - we are sorted & will never get a decision go against us. Message from KR to our players - dive at will !!7

Powell is such a nice guy he'll probably give everyone the benefit of the doubt!1

Good appointment, Powell being Powell will take this 100% seriously so won't do anyone any 'favours' and will play with a straight bat.
I know there are those who don't think he was a great manager, but I still find it odd someone of his personal standing and respect in the game and with a good football management/coaching CV he hasn't turned up somewhere as a manager. I know he's been assistant a bit over the last couple of years but I'd have thought he'd earned his stripes to get a gig in League 1 or 2 at least.
763 games as a pro, 218 as a manager, 81 of them wins (37%) and 63 draws (29%) I'd guess is a better record than a lot of league 1/2 current managers. How did Slade walk straight into 2 jobs (3 including us) but Powell none......... waste in my view.10 -
I was hoping it was the governance review so he could make sure a certain KM does not make it onto the FA Board.4

"These names will only be called upon to review footage from a game when there is an obvious case to answer"
I don't get it. If it's an obvious case then why does it need a panel?4 -
By 'an obvious case to answer' they mean if there is a strong enough case (which needs answering) for overturning whatever the original decision was.WSS said:"These names will only be called upon to review footage from a game when there is an obvious case to answer"

Maybe could have been worded more simply.0 -
Good to see he's wearing a black & white tie in that pic.4

Chris Powell refuses to rule out Charlton return0 -
I have also refused to rule out a Charlton return.
I also refuse to rule out making a bid for leadership of the tory party.0 -
I also refuse to rule out fielding a team that plays decent football, but the chances are slim.1

Chris Powell has refused to rule out a return to Charlton - under different ownership.
Powell guided the Addicks to the Championship in 2012, and led them to a ninth-placed finish in their first season back in England’s second tier.
But the following campaign saw the Charlton legend sacked by owner Roland Duchatelet with the club in the relegation zone.
Since then, Powell, who has had four spells at the Valley as a player and manager, has claimed Duchatelet interfered with team selection.
When asked if he would boss Charlton again under new owners, he told The Totally Football League Show podcast: “Listen I had such a great time managing a club that I’m so synonymous with.
“They couldn’t get rid of me – I left, came back, went to West Ham came back, went to Watford came back – and came back as a manager. So it’s four times I’ve come back. Who knows what the future holds?
“They’ve gone through the mill. They’ve been relegated and that hurts because the hard work of getting the team up and then we just finished outside the play-offs in our first season in the Championship.
“You just felt that could’ve been the beginning and resurrection of the club, similar to the Alan Curbishley days. So, who knows?
“But I enjoyed my time and I’m proud of my players and the records we broke. I haven’t seen them this season which is a good sign because I still want the team and fans to have good times and they’ve won a few games.”6 -
