We were incredibly lucky with injuries in 2011/12, I'm struggling to think of a major injury we suffered that season. Danny Hollands having triplets was as bad as it got!10

Yeah, I think although the team was quality, we did indeed get lucky. I still think that squad lacked depth, we didn't really have a decent reserve CB/RB or much width in that team. We would have severely missed nearly all of those players.killerandflash said:We were incredibly lucky with injuries in 2011/12, I'm struggling to think of a major injury we suffered that season. A pointless discussion but barring Magennis, Da Silva and Kashi, I do think this team could cope with the loss of any player, albeit short term I mean1 -

We had 3, Morrison, Taylor and Cort. Fortunately we never had to use Doherty.cafcfan1990 said:

Difference is we could bring in short term loans, so the squad could be that bit smaller.
I'm not sure it was just luck. The fitness/sport science/physios etc probably did a very good job.
No doubt we had a better pre-season than those under Peeters, Luzon and Slade.
A lot of that squad probably had a good records of playing regularly and having few injuries as well.
Style of play could also make a difference. Robinson wants aggressive tackling and high pressing. I wouldn't be surprised if that leads to a few injuries as the season goes on.2 -

For some reason, last night I convinced myself Leon Cort only arrived in the January. Realised now he turned his loan permanent in the JanuaryScoham said:

Cort and Morro were quality, in an old school manner. Taylor had found his level but did well too.cafcfan1990 said:

Had a look out of interest, Cort only started 10 league games that season. Taylor seems to be the one more easily forgotten but I always thought he did such a good job that you didn't really notice him. Players such a Bauer seem to be rated higher but he's never been consistent over a full season.4

Yeah Taylor and Morrison clicked and had a great understanding. Think Cort was the better player but joined when they had already started playing together and he just couldn't get a look inScoham said:Had a look out of interest, Cort only started 10 league games that season. from our Belgium friend Skywalker on the TW thread
'Do you guys know TW is on his way back to Belgium ?! He has been bought by OH Leuven (Louvain). This has just been released in Belgian media ...'2 -
translated by google -
'We will soon see an old famous return to Belgium. Tony Watt, the spit that used to be for Standard and Lierse, is on his way to OH Leuven.
From a good source, we know that Tony Watt will soon be the latest acquisition of OH Leuven. However, in recent months he has been linked to a return to Lierse in recent months.
The Scottish attacker played between 2013 and 2014 for Lierse and later Standard. Eventually Charlton Athletic bought him away from Liège, but in England he found it hard to find his place. At OHL he hopes he has got back to strength.'

Shame with Watt. Exciting player when he was up for it but clearly hasn't wanted to be here recently so best he moves on, especially if it means Robinson might be allowed to bring another forward in.5

Great news get rid.then get someone in who wants to play for the club I hope this is the last of him.0

Wait until it is on the OS before I believe this story, or wait until the 18 are listed for tomorrow's game1
