    Bit harsh Derek. Don't really see the problem with it tbh. A yellow is more than sufficient.

    Unless it was Jan Molby or Peter Garland. Then a straight red is the correct punishment.

    Trouble is if you don't have an official clock that stops when there is an injury etc how do you know if the player is off for 10 minutes. What if there is an injury for 5 minutes during the sin bin or maybe 2,000 beach balls need to be cleared off the pitch? I like the idea but can't see how that works. I do think the manager and captain should be allowed to have 2 or 3 challenges per half like in tennis for video replays though.

    Whilst I realise it isn't the same thing, my five a side league has had blue cards for 5 minutes for years. Cools it down a bit.

    Why? It seems to me to be quite harmless, just a bit of exuberance. The ball is out of play, what's the harm?

    Problem could be if a team has a player sin binned they will naturally 'kill' the game, waste as much time as poss, for ten minutes until back to full strength.

    not always that simple a thing to do in reality.

    I think sin bins are a great idea.

    On the flip slide the team with the extra player advantage could have a real go and put the opposistion under pressure for the 10 mins.

    Personally I don't actually think the sin bin is a good idea. The only thing I would change on the discipline front is a straight red for simulation.

    not for me .. too much room for error and controversy .. will slow the game down and encourage time wasting from the side temporarily reduced to 10 men ..
    I'd introduce the Rugby League 'on report' system and retain yellow and red cards allied to video replays to check for gross foul play/offsides etc. as in Rugby Union
