He's a great lad, proper Charlton fan, bloody decent footballer and seems to have a very level head.

Very sensible. If you're obviously not going to be a top-level player but you want to be involved at the top level of football, it makes excellent sense to apply yourself as a student of how the game is coached and run even at a young age. Surprising that more players don't take this option. He'll go far0

I mean, not that he couldn't in theory play in the Premiership - he's still young - but this bespeaks someone who's got his eye on a bigger prize after his playing career ends. And he could still have a fantastic playing career in the meantime1
