I don’t think they were ever accepted, in the wake of the prog rock giants but a great catalogue of music/albums.Karim_myBagheri said:

RIP Ray Thomas
great band. often ridiculed because of the lyrics (certainly the poetry) but for me one of very few prog rock bands that I really love. also I set their song The Voyage/Have you head to footage back in college for an assignment. did the same with Go Now a few years later.
Even good to trip too;)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N_J-hmyAS6c&sns=em

I stumbled across this. A great track that I haven't listened to for ages (as Absolute Radio says).

Listening to a fair bit of Neil Diamond today, triggered by the sad news of his illness and retirement.
A legend and one of the greatest songwriters of his generation.1 - Sponsored links:

Saw him at Earls Court about 15 years ago, one of the best concerts I’ve been to.bobmunro said:Listening to a fair bit of Neil Diamond today, triggered by the sad news of his illness and retirement.

Mozart - Coronation Mass K317 (more properly, Mass No. 15 in C major, but it's easiest to find Mozart works by the Kochel numbers):

I'm currently rediscovering a beautiful series called Piano Jazz with longtime host Marian McPartland. For NPR in the States (somewhat equivalent to the BBC I guess), she did lots of hour-long shows with up-and-coming or established jazz musicians and they talked about life, music, and all sorts.
It's like Desert Island Discs, but only with musicians, and they just decide to play a few tunes every so often. Currently listening to the Roy Hargrove one (thankfully this was likely recorded before he got too strung out on heroin/crack or whatever he does, which is tragic):

A short list of ones that I'd recommend:
- Norah Jones
- Bill Evans (very technical - some mad shit in there, great if you're a musician)
- Hiromi
- Oscar Peterson (both of them)
- Brad Mehldau
- Harry Connick Jr
- Alicia Keys(!)
- Michel Petrucciani
A much more comprehensive list is available here, but I don't know how many are still online. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piano_Jazz#Program_log:_guest_list0 -
Wonderful Wonderful - The Killers1
