Heard a story from one of the academy lads a few years ago when Nathan was in charge and he explained how several of them arranged for a cheeky little game of football down at goals in Bexleyheath one night. Anyway what they didn't know was that Nathan got wind of it and waited for them to start their game and then turned up to 'cheer them on'. When pressed the what happened after all he said was "we got punished" followed by 'never again' and then finally 'it hurt'
To be honest though, those lads all respected him and was willing to go that extra yard too.

I follow Nathan Jones and Ade Azeez on twitter and have never forgotten the below exchange.
It was Azeez who tweet something about trying to get anyone up for a game of Football down at goals, Nathan saw the tweet so replied saying anyone who went would be in trouble the next day @ training.
Azeez promptly posted a new tweet along the lines of: "Oh well, that idea's gone then"5 -
what is it with Charlton and aversion to goals?16

I once saw Wayne Routledge playing at Goals in Eltham. I doubt Swansea knew about it.0

To be honest, that's just ridiculous on his part. You're earning 50k+ a week and you want to risk injury getting booted by Pete the plumber who had a pint in the bar before the gameThe Red Robin said:I once saw Wayne Routledge playing at Goals in Eltham. I doubt Swansea knew about it.

Played against him at Elmers End in the summer when he was at Newcastle so he obviously done it quite often. Realised how good footballers are, barely broke a sweat. Although played against Ryan Hall and was quite ordinary. The Red Robin said:I once saw Wayne Routledge playing at Goals in Eltham. I doubt Swansea knew about it.

Nobody is 'the next Chris Powell'
He is a one off human being!6 -
To be honest all that chest pumping looks much more Karl Robinson than Sir Chris. Chris has much more class. Fist pumps, tunnel jumps and hanging off crossbars only.3

Nathan jones seems likeable, Chris Powell is loveable.0

Oi, I'm not a plumber.Chris_from_Sidcup said:

He was ridiculously good. He seemed to receive the ball and finish it in one movement. Several steps ahead of anyone there. No danger of him getting injured as no one could get near him, plus no one wanted to be the person who injured him.
I assume you don't mean Ryan Hall from Leeds Rhinos.0 -
I can see Nathan being our manager one day, and it is written in the stars that SCP will return.0

SCP will return with Southend next season.0

If Karl was to hang off the cross bars you'd have to buy a new set every weekcantersaddick said:To be honest all that chest pumping looks much more Karl Robinson than Sir Chris. Chris has much more class. Fist pumps, tunnel jumps and hanging off crossbars only.

I kicked his calf and it really hurt my foot. I'm not aware of who that is but can confirm one of the players on Ryan Halls team was the size of a rugby player. I'm talking about the ex palace youth who played for Leeds and he was at Southend at the time and the team he played for were pure scum which doesn't surprise me considering his history of being in trouble. Drew with the 9-9 if I remember correct. The Red Robin said:
