Would be interesting to look for other takeovers - preferably of similar stature clubs - and then do a quick google for the earliest news articles. See just how common it is for the name to be announced prior, and how far in advance that happens.
From my experience this week, Companies House WebFilling is near immediate with regards to posting official documentation online. So I can't see anything leaking out via there.
Similarly, the Football League appears to be very opaque - and do their checks in secrecy (surprise surprise) - so I can't see anything particularly tantalizing coming in to the public domain there either.0 -

I heard the free scarf story a couple of weeks ago, so this is a stale revival of what might have been only a rumour at the time, or it could mean what I heard about previously has legs.
