.......I was just wondering who you think is the stronger right back, I know it is early days for Cranie, the jury is still out for me, but I think he is better than the other on loan right back we had last year.

Personally I rate Moo2.

Of the three of them, Halford is better at defending, can score goals and has a significant attacking weapon in his long throw. No contest for me.

Would prefer Moo2 in right now, with Cranie possibly at CH - he must be good at something, mustn't he?

Just seen he has been selected for England under 21's so somebody has seen something in him.
I didn't rate Halford, he was roasted far too often. Moo2 looks good going forward, needs to learn to defend better, this may come with two strong centre halves organising at the back.

    LOL@ WEEGIE

Halford to me what McLoed and Pardew is to NorthstandSteve - absolutely hated him thought he was absolute toilet.

Cranie only seen him once at the Palace game and he didn't play well but who did really.

Halford was never as bad as some made out, Cranie isn't as bad as some are already making out.

I like the bloke, defensively he's sound, but not as exciting as Moo2.

Probably right Rothko but I just got a bee in the ole bonnet about him and that's it -
  • I thought Halford was very poor defensively but tried to get forward and did have his long throw which like it or not as an attacking weapon.

Cranie,as I've said before (apologies for repitition) looks solid in defence but doesn't seem interested in venturing near the halfway line let alone past it and looks like much more of a centre-half than a right-back.

I would much rather see Moo2, especially at home, as what he might lack defensively he will at least get forward and help us create something
  • If had to choose I'd say Halford although I didn't rate him too highly, defensively we have had worse, but then again we haven't seen very much of Cranie yet and he's probably not fully fit and still finding his feet. Some of Halford's crossing and shots to almost the corner flag from the opposite side of the pitch used to make me chuckle.

Bring back Moo2 though. Links up well with Sam and they compliment each other very well. Just look at both players and how well they played together during the Reading match and how we had much more attacking options on the right side of the pitch.

Bit iffy defensively but how will he improve that side of his game unless he gets a run in the side and few more under his belt in competitive matches.

Totally agree that he's more exciting too. If not room at RB could we not bring him on as a sub on the right wing for something a lil different if Sam is having an ineffective game?

Play Moo2 every time. What he lacks defensively he makes up for by driving us forward. With attacking full backs we don't lump it forward and actually play good football. This season seems to be a write off as far as most on here are concerned so lets throw caution to the wind and have a go at teams, we might just suprise ourselves.

Halford was like a newly born Giraffe on the pitch. Not a solid defender at all.

Cranie looks (on first impressions) slightly more solid, but who knows how our recent displays will affect his confidence (as well as others).

Both abysmal, although Cranie may improve I suppose. Always baffled me that Luke Young was somewhat taken for granted, I think these two clowns serve to remind us how good he was.

Cranie over Halford. But I'd rather see Moo2 over both of them.
  • Moo2 is gr8 and should play on rotation to get better. halford or cranie, ill say halford as he was our best defender last season by far pls he scores the odd goal

I like Moo2 too. I know he needs to work on his defending, but he gives us alot more going forward. Who knows how good he can be ? Another one who has never been given a chance to prove himself. One mistake and he's out. Must do wonders for his confidence.

I think Cranies a better player although I think he's been a bit ring rusty for us so far. Not surprising given his long lay off.

Young was brilliant once he'd settled in, but it took him best part of a season to look his best. Let's hope that the ones we've got now are just finding their feet.

Problem is every charlton fan I know rates moutakill, ok he's not great defensivly but offers so much goin forward you can forgive him, so its obvious any other especially loan RB questions are goin to b asked

Not seen Crainie myself as yet, but Id play Moo2, thought he combined well with Sam, who covered him when going forward.....didnt rate Halford apart from Palace at home when I think we saw the real player he could be.
