I recall allegations of a large eared gentleman frequenting The Venue.ricky_otto said:
Exactly - There was one player (in the curbs era) who used to get absolutely wankered in the Venue every single Saturday. Had there been camera phones or social media, most on here would have wanted him hung, drawn and quartered.ValleyGary said:
Yeah, would never have seen any of that era in The Venue........................paulbaconsarnie said:
Bet there's a few players from that era that are glad there were no camera phones at the player of the year dos at the meridian.queensland_addick said:
I was trying to imagine players like Kinsella, Kish, Steve Brown etc, behaving in a similar way, and whether Curbs would tolerate it? Not because young blokes with plenty of cash do not quite commonly behave in such a way, but because they are professional athletes who should be keeping their bodies in tip top condition. Additionally, they are representatives of CAFC on and off the pitch.SantaClaus said:I'm more appalled by professional athletes getting rat assed than any naughty words they might have used. I hope every one of the piss heads in that video is playing elsewhere next season.
Curbs didn't keep him long in the overall scheme of things.4 -
So we're all in agreement that 'disciplined internally' means they won't be spoken to/punished in any way right?2
-
I wouldn’t have thought so. They clearly don’t listen to match day instructions, so I doubt they will be too concerned about a non football related matter.SELR_addicks said:So we're all in agreement that 'disciplined internally' means they won't be spoken to/punished in any way right?

Quite glad I (almost) stayed out of this thread if I'm honest.0

I should think the dangers of the smartphone will be explained to them rather than anything about their behaviour.SELR_addicks said:So we're all in agreement that 'disciplined internally' means they won't be spoken to/punished in any way right?

Glad I backed the right horse at the start of the thread! Although that was mostly cos I hate the Sun so much, let's be honest0

I will add that Roger Johnson is a truly lost soul. I almost feel sorry for the fucker1

Since the story broke, I have been sobbing uncontrollably.
The players' banterish antics left me almost unable to finish my dinner last night.
Don't think I'll ever get over this.3 -

Find it amazing the pro Banterists and the PC gone mad mob are claiming some sort of victory here. As if the club's family, inclusive, anti-racist image has not been tarnished by the release of this video. The players are, quite rightly, going to be punished. The only thing that has been clarified that mitigates the whole sorry incident is that it happened in an international break so unlikely to have impacted a training week before a match.2

A well worded statement which correctly expresses the club's disapproval without going OTT.7

"...disciplined internally..."
is that a polonium sandwich or something rather more medieval?
a large portion of both would still be going easy on the worthless organisms0 -
A video that paints the players in a bad light with the booze and OTT language, but nothing in it in terms of the abuse.
The talk of bullying etc was wide of the mark - it really was just "banter". Those sorts of things are said to eachother between mates by millions of people up and down the country and that does include the "Mum" stuff.
I think the statement reflects that accurately.4 -
The naughty ones have to learn to Riverdance as a punishment.1

The club could at least defined baggy.3
