"If there were some bonuses to come out of that game, the back four defensively and Nicky Bailey in midfield were brilliant. - about the Palace game

Is he taking the effing piss or what. But for weaver we would have been raped.

As for Lisbie I think everyone in hindsight thinks he got it wrong letting him go BUT he's spot on the geezer was never fit here.

As for saying Dickson is not going to play, or insinuating he won't , that could be little mind games.

I suspect it'll be Toddy and Varns tomorrow.

The reason we got murdered on Tuesday had a lot to do with the shape of the midfield, only Bailey did anything of note in there.

Get ZZ and Semedo in there with Bailey with Bouzazza wide and ZZ narrow.

    Toddy and Varney upfront

I am sorry people, after reading that about what he thought of the Palace game I am worried. It’s obvious we will get battered by physical teams (like Palace) yet he still is harping on about playing little triangles. They have yet to yield any goals!

With regards to the back four I thought Kelly and Cranie looked at sea. Bailey is the only thing he got right, however it’s all very well playing well and getting stuck in I just think the players around him are holding him back. He is great going forward but is having to stay back!

    The back four were brilliant.

Means Youga and Cranie will be playing :-(

You have to wonder what he sees different that the fans who go week after week don't...

For me Sam, Bouazza, Holland and Ambrose were all disappointing, Palace ran through our midfield, so I don't have a problem with Pards saying the back 4 did well. I hope that at least Sam and Holland are replaced and that Varney is not alone up front.

And Ipswich are a footballing side, so at least we should get the chance tio play a bit as well.
  • But Lisbie was fit for about half a season before he let him go. So his reasoning doesn't make any sense.
The problem was rather than give him a go, he preferred to play that t***er M. Bent up front instead.
But then he'd never admit to cccking up letting Lisbie and Iwelumo go. Also let's not forget he was prepared to let Fortune go as well to Stoke.

How far have we fallen as a club that we are afraid of Lisbie.

Does anyone on here remember the number of missed chances that boy used to blow for us? Let's try not booing him then we'll have nothing to worry about!

please find a quote from anyone unhappy at the thought of Fortune /Lisbie going and I'll happily say pardew was wrong.

We're all masters of everything in hindsight.

As Ketman says, liverpool game aside, Lisbie couldn't hit a cows ass with a banjo most of his charlton career.

How about yourself in your original post for starters. Quote " As for Lisbie I think everyone in hindsight thinks he got it wrong letting him"

Ok how about this one from me posted last January:
    * Jan 2nd 2008

8 goals now in half a season playing for the bottom team. Big mistake IMO to let him go, would have been great for us in this division.
Pars has the cheek to say "he was always in the background at Charlton". Only because you didn't give him a fair go mate. One appearance against the Arse in which he played very well by all accounts. Instead he persisted with the waster M Bent.
11 bloody years it took us to get him fully fit and then we give him away for nothing.
I wouldn't mind betting that this is the longest run of league games that he has ever had and it's certainly paying dividends for him.
Well done Kev, you deserve it.

The revionism over Lisbie, is almost as bad as what's going on with Big Chris.

Few were sad to see either go

This is what I've been talking about on another thread. We have the players to do the job....they just need to be managed and motivated. Pards as had it in the past and so I'm hoping he gets it back. I've not given up hope just yet. Lets wait to see what tomorrow brings as Ipswich will be a good litmus test after Tuesday night.

fair enough queensland fella but that was posted in Jan 6 months after he'd left and was scoring goals. At the time of release I bet you weren't bothered

    - I probably said in January FEB, MARCH when Lisbie was in double figures we were wrong to let him go - BUT at the time never.

For the record, I thought that it was wrong to let Big Chris go and said so at the time but I accept that we needed the cash.

Lisbie's situation was a bit different, he needed a change to get his career back on track. I don't think that he would have scored anywherer near the goals he has if he'd stayed.

Not true Ledge. I always rated the guy and aways backed him when everyone else was slagging him off.
You'll just have to believe me on that one because I can't find some of my older posts.
Len Glover, if he's around, would back me on this because he was about the only one who ever agreed with me.

    Consider yourself "backed!"

The two of us fought a rearguard action both on the old netaddicks board and on here defending SuperKev.

As regards Iwelumo I can remember observing the irony of blaming a player for the way other players played around him. Hoofing it in the air in other words. However, like Barndoor Lisbie, I accepted he had to go as one of the few players we could recoup some dosh on when needed.

I have long contended that Fortune is underrated too.

Please don't call him SuperKev Len, never has a name not fitted a player as that does to him.
  • Cheers Len,
Enjoy watching our lad tomorrow, once again making fools out of all those that gave him so much stick.
So long as he doesn't score against us again!
Agree with you about Fortune. Very underrated. We're not doing too well without him are we?
BTW do you know whatever happened to Bournmouth Addick? He used to love Lisbie and Euell didn't he LOL

Bournemouth Addick has a new monicker, Les Addicks, and yes Lisbie and Kishishev were undoubtedly his two favourite players :-)
