Wrong game Dan. that was Naaaaridge at home on Boxing Day - and it was the opener after about five minutes. My word did he put some manners on that ball. That game also sticks in my mind because that neckless no-mark freak Bellamy tried pushing the Fish around in the goal after he'd scored a penalty to make it 2-1. As for that 4-4, it was Leaburn who got the equaliser - after Jason Lee made it 4-3. We'd been down to ten men for almost the whole game after Sweaty got sent off at 0-0 - they scored from the free kick, then we went down the other end and scored two identical free kicks (Kins and Twinkle-Toes I think it was?). Darren Eadie then got a hat trick for them but we still drew 4-4 - absolutely cracking entertainment.
Some of my favourites of recent years include:
Kinsella at Bolton the year before we went up first time round - 30 yard rocket
Stevie Brown at home to Bradford - 35 yards out at least, ball never got more than three feet above or two feet below ground before ending up in the back of the net
Morts in the same game - danced through the entire Bradford defence - twice before eyesing the keeper and putting it the other way
Mendonca hat-trick - the best hat-trick I've ever seen - every goal was pure quality
Newts in playoff semi against Ipswich - another rocket - a perfect, perfect goal
Robbo - Huddersfield away - scored from 35 yards out, then spent about a week celebrating
Bartlett against Leicester - jaw-dropping
Gary Poole - screamer. Poor git - he only played once more for us I think0 -
Not the best, but one I remember, John Robinson at Birmingham in 96, ball swept from one end to the other for Robbo to stick it in and make it 3-1 right on half time.0

Andy Hunt away at coevntry. We were 2-0 down after 20 minutes and they were singing can we play you every week. Was 2-2 at half time, Robbo and newton I think. It was Toddys first game. We then sund can we play you every week back at them haha. Probably the best away game I have been at.

I felt exactly the same. I couldn't watch that one as I was certain he was going to miss!
Best goal has to be Bartlet's volley although my favorite for comedy value has to be Jensen against Man City when the Defender smashes the ball against him near the half way line and it sales back over the keepers head.

Really not sure how to decide the "best" goal but:
Peter Shirtliff's 2nd goal at St Andrews WAS the single most important moment in our recent history.
Richard Rufus' equaliser at Wembley was the most memorable goal.
Scott Parker's late winner at Elland Road was the most enjoyable goal.0 -

Jim Ryan for Charlton Reserves against Millwall Reserves......It was a high scoring game (5-4?) and Jim stuck away the winner. As he run through about 5 Millwall defenders bounced off him before he struck it viciously into the top of the net.0

There have been some great, great goals over the years - but I agree that Bartlett's has to be the best. I remember literally gasping and then standing in shock for a second or so when it went in!0 -
For me Hales, Mortimer, kinsella, Mendonca always scored great goals.
The one that stands out though is Paul Miller's equaliser at Stamford Bridge. Oh the silence....0
