  • Glad I caught up with this thread as I was looking for Bingtao result today & hadn't realised he'd lost. Shame to see him not make the worlds this year. Will be a world champion 1 day.

Some good match ups in the final qualifying round. Hossein Vafaei v Stephen Maguire the match of the round for me. Matthew Stevens v Ken Doherty is decent too. Good to see them still playing at the top level.

    Think maguire will win 10-6

For me match of the round of than Doherty v Stevens is Davis v Perry(although Perry has turned into a right little b***h on twittet recently so hope Davis does him.

Adam Duffy is an interesting one as well as he could be the 1st person from Sheffield to qualify for the crucible

Half of them are very tough to call, will be a few final frame deciders i reckon.

Shame to see Bingtao go out, but agree he is still going to be world champ some time soon. Even some of the top 16 would struggle in the qualifiers
  • No one else going to have a friendly prediction comp. Starts at 11. Need to say before 12 :)

  • I should of added not only are games on eurosport today.

As its judgement day today and tomorrow there is coverage of all 8 table on the below facebook link

    https://www.facebook.com/WorldSnooker1/
  • I think Vafaei will beat Maguire
  • I think Vafaei will beat Maguire

Bold call, Vafaei was picking up some results maybe early of season or end of last? But don't think he has done much of late. Maguire has been on reasonable form this season should go through, but Vafaei does have the game to trouble him.
  • 1st 8 matches have completed there first session and few players have pulled away early on but there are some tight matches still

    Stuart Carrington 5-4 Zhang Anda
    Mike Dunn 5-4 Graeme Dott
    Thepchaiya Un-Nooh 5-4 Alfie Burden
    Ricky Walden 5-4 Andrew Higginson

    Robert Milkins 7-2 Michael Holt
    Matthew Stevens 7-2 Ken Doherty
    Joe Perry 7-2 Mark Davis
    Chris Wakelin 8-1 Tian Pengfei
  • Alot of one sided ones there, and a couple i had the other way lol. Shows hard one to bet on as there are some people who will step up and theres Michael Holt never really had the mental game to get up there, shame as i like watching him just a journeyman now.
  • Enjoying this thread

I’m nowhere near as knowledgeable as you chaps but looking forward to heading to Sheffield on Friday week as we have tickets for the afternoon and evening sessions

Now following Lisowski’s fortunes with interest after @paulie8290 earlier comments about him

Also see the Coventry fan isn’t allowed to wear his shirts this year!

It is a bit weird this whole thing.

Its not just football shirts either.

If they dont think you are appropriatly dressed they wont allow you in until you have found appropriate clothing

We went a couple of years ago and got to see Selby, as well as Mark Williams who was great value, so it would be great to see him play again.

That’s my only experience of live snooker though, really enjoyed it and we said we would go every year after that but struggled for tickets last time, I guess as it was the Crucible anniversary.

Hope my earpiece for the commentary still works :-)
  • Just done the programme and large screen in Tudor Square outside the Crucible. Ronnie will smash it this year.
