personally I'd prefer to keep the name as it is - it's part of our identity

    I agree but no one has even suggested that this might happen.

    I'm a little concerned that why we wait for however long for the deal to be completed stories or even innocent questions will be spun by others into

    "Charlton fans furious at stadium name change proposal"

    when no such proposal has been mentioned.

    It's a fair question Swisdom but beware.

    I take that onboard Henry - was just curious to gauge opinion

    Personally I think it likely as it's obviously going to raise awareness and I would not be surprised to see a new sponsor next season.

    I guess this kind of thing will become apparent in due course but would like to think having RM sticking around he will speak for us fans

    Like SHG said I wouldn't mind the XXXXX Valley but it will always be the Valley and calling it the "Matchroom Stadium" or whatever won't work IMHO but we just have to wait and see. May not even be on the agenda.

    And it doesn't scan with VFR ; - )

    Certainly will be interesting times for Steve Sutherland and the commercial guys. They worked incredibility hard to get the JD deal at a good price in hard times when teams like WBA couldn't get anyone.

    If the takeover happens I suspect it will be slightly easier for them to put a call thru to a few potential sponsors : - )

    It will always be the Valley to me but if others choose to call it something different thats up to them.
    If its the price we have to pay, so be it.
