as said on sticky thread at the top, shame but not exactly unexpected. As for the last line it does say 'reports' suggest so they don't know either.

The last line is just reporting that another reporter reported that an offer had been reportedly made, just good reporting in my book.

"Charlton directors have pulled out of tonight's meeting of the Bromley branch of the Supporters' Club on the advice of bankers Rothschild who are heavily involved in the club's proposed takeover by Dubai-based Zabeel Investments".

Sounds like Zabeel are serious, despite what hacks in the dreary Grauniad may conjure up?
  • Isn't this a good sign?

If it were all crap and smoke, why would Rothschild be asking our Directors not to attend a meeting where they would be asked questions on the matter?

I would have been most surprised if they'd attended. it's obvious what all the questions would have been about and it's always possible something said is misconstrude (sp) or not and reported in the press. Loose lips sink ships and all that!

Especially as it has been advertised on here as a free to attend meeting, and with no vetting on the door, any amount of journo's could be in there, far too risky IMO and the right decision has been made.
