bump
our second goal was pure class, guess it must be in video somewhere1 -
No problems - our usual comms gear was packed for Rochdale so not sure how our temporary and rather old mic came out!lancashire lad said:Thanks to Greg for the commentary

Second goal was class, I’m sure it will get a separate airing when this weekend is over.0 -
Any idea why those at the Valley were denied the knowledge of which player was which?StubleyAddick said:

That team sheet wasn't available to the paying customer. They could have announced to us which player was wearing which number but actually flat out refused to do so when I asked for it to happen.Sid James Fan Club said:Seth, team is below from yesterday...
Then lo and behold they had a working tannoy for the presentation.
The general attitude from the staff and those in the communications sphere within the club is one of distain.

Any word on who the trialist's were?
I think i'd be a bit pissed off if i was a regular U18 player and some trialist turned up for the final and took my place!0 -
The trialist, number 6, that played the whole game was named as Toby Stevenson (spelling?)0
-
I thought the number 6 trialling was pretty good0

Sarmiento is one to watch but was not the best player. Albie Morgan was.0

Need to remember Albie is an Under 18 whilst Jeremy a young Under 16.1

Yes. Sarmiento did seem to be younger than most of the others.DOC64 said:Need to remember Albie is an Under 18 whilst Jeremy a young Under 16.
It is wise not to rush to judgement too quickly with up and coming players.
On Friday it was apparent that Sarmiento has good close control but could be crowded out of overwhelmed at times, Albie was imaginative and unpredictable with his very good choices when in possession, and has a lot of personal skill without being she catchingly tricksy
There was a decent sense of balance about the team. Crystal Palace were nowhere near us in terms of a credible team structure.
The Crystal Palace manager at that level was Paddy McCarthy.0 -
Be great to see the lads paraded on the pitch on Thursday night.0
-
Albie has always been a very astute footballer and strikes a great ball. Jeremy needs to improve his decision making and tends to run into blind alleys far too frequently.
Both great prospects, but very different types of player.0 -
I wish I knew. In the past two years when I have not had a season ticket (after 44 years with one) I am denied access to Sparrows Lane which I am sad about because I have been reporting on and commenting on youth team affairs since way back when.DOC64 said:@sethplum, how is Albie' s younger brother Frankie coming on?
Frankie always very spirited and a tenacious, gutsy player
However it is an ill wind and all that, because my kind of angst at least provides Olly with plenty of excuse to laugh at me.0
