    I think this 'Lurkers' theory is a bit OTT as I don't log on unless I want to post. Sometimes I won't log on all day but often look in.

    Yep, I'm thinking that there are a few that do that too Stone.

    Mind you, then the software doesn't keep track of the things you've read. You know that you can keep logged in on one computer? Just click the "Remember me" box on login.

    Or do you do it to facilitate a quick username change? ;-)

    Our Acceptable Use Policy at work has a clause about chatrooms and message boards (we're allowed to read but not post), so I'm another one that adds to the guest count at lunchtimes.
