Youds first touch in the forest game was a total shank!
He then battered and wound van hooijdonk up for the rest of the game.
Ricky Otto looked good in what I think was also Kinsellas first game?
Dean Chandler scored on his debut along with Bowyer against a high flying Reading at that dump they used to inhabit.
Darren Bent though for me, I didn't go up to Sunderland as I was DJ'ing all day and night but as debuts go and to carry on like that...0 -

Blimey yeah. That was the 3-3 with Man Utd wasn't it? Take some beating I reckon..
Bartlett came on as sub against Liverpool in the previous match, we lost 3-0, Mark Fish scoring an own goal after three minutes, thought then that bartlett would be a mark bright for us. As well as scoring the goals against Man U, don't forget he also scored a MoTD goal of the seaon against Leicester, when they were a top division club, wonder what happened to them0 -
Who did Kim Grant make his debut against - didn't he score and look like an immediate replacement for Paul Williams.
Speaking of Paul Williams, didn't he score 2 against West Ham at Upton Park on his debut - or had he already played by then?0 -

Wasnt Mortimers debut a bit classy .... I think it was against Norwich...
I remember him chipping it over their front line back to bob bolder in goal....0 -

I'm quite surprised that other folk haven't reacted to my Linvoy Primus selection....he was awesome that day and won MOTM........I believe he may have got that from the TV, as the game might could well have gone out live(or at least with extended highlights)...he was only a kid too.0

Was watching the top 50 prem goals last night. Can't belive that his strike against Leicester didn't get in the top ten!!0 -
Linvoy did get MOM on tv...was it against Leicester at Trumpton Park?...he looked like a real star....shame we let him go!0

Pringle, Bartlett, Mills and Primus stand out but Mark Hudson had a pretty good debut against Swansea this season.0

Declan/Les, The Valley, May sometime, in Goal in front of the south stand.....kept a clean sheet, what more could you ask for.

Mark Kinsella against Oldham in 1996. Totally ran the game and we suddenly realised what a player we had, especially as we nearly didn't get him from Colchester. He'd impressed in a pre season friendly against Orient and we were all set to sign him but the deal appeared to fall through. Thankfully we managed to nab him around October that year. I particularly remember this game as I was deafened throughout by a Dutch oompah band that were making visit to the Valley courtesy of an invitation from Henry Irving, if I recall it correctly.
Incidentally we won the game 1-0 thanks to a David Whyte goal in the last minute set up by another debutant that day, Ricky Otto.0 -

Good call for Mills at Crewe, but I recall Eddie Youds also made his debut in that game and played a blinder.0

The old memory might be playing tricks but we sold Killer to Derby and next match Tony Burman played and scored. I THINK that was Tony's debut. I can remember a few people saying that maybe we did the right thing selling killer as Burman could replace him. I wasn't convinced and the fact that we missed promotion proved me right sadly.0

Probably not the most impressive as i think Bartlett wins that, but i remember Moo2's debut at home to Scunthorpe last season, he was brilliant and did an amazing turn or dummy at one point to go past a player and i thought we'd uncovered a star. At Scunthorpe away, i realised we hadn't!0

Corey Gibbs - didn't put a foot wrong. Well he might have done if he had a debut....
Bob Bolders was terrible as was Simon Websters and they both turned out to be legends.0
