I chose this site because it was above the forum bashing of the others. Would be nice if we could keep it that way.

What has always made this site a class above was the total ban on discussing about what was happening on other CAFC forums. No good can ever come of it.

Sadly we now have it happening and it is causing the aggro.

If you have an issue with another site, go to that site and argue with them there
err ?????? Are you sure you meant to quote me there? I have no issue with any other forum and my post was saying almost exactly what you just posted.

    Confused????

Sorry I was agreeing with totally and should have made that clear. You are not the issue

Just cracked open a bottle of Russian Standard.

Not sure it's quite what the Doctor ordered, but with guitar heroes playing on 'Yesterday' in the other room, it could be a good night!

    @nth london addick
    Binary:
In this context, binary means something which exists only in one of two states – eg, on/off, yes/no, black/white, male/female.
It was a long way back, but I think AB said the situation is NOT binary – ie. we can have yes/no/maybe, black/white/50 shades of grey, and male/female/lady-boys.

Now can everyone PLEASE all calm down, have a good night’s sleep, and come back with sensible debate instead all this schoolboy points-scoring tomorrow? It is getting beyond tiresome!

If anyone wants to know anything can they put it in a message to me please.

To the trolls like Dick and Stu, this was because someone asked if Muir was still in Britain twice and I didn't see it, and then two people asked how I knew my contact, and again, I didn't see it. So I'd prefer it if people could message me, if that's ok with you. You can pop back to Nick on the other forum and tell him you had a pop at me though. I'm sure he'll be proud of you. Pathetic.
Get over yourself ffs. Seriously, just because other people see things differently or disagree with you does not make them a troll.

You've been a Charlton fan 5 minutes and you're on here telling long term Charlton fans and posters every 5 minutes how to behave and think about our club.

    Seriously wind your ego in.
Yes and you’re just another troll. It’s always the same people. I don’t give a flying f what you think of me.
It’s always the same shit propogsted by your leader Nick Gray. Just F off back to your sad little forum. And your middle name isn’t Charlton, unlike mine.

Get a grip. No idea what forum are you talking about and you are coming across as paranoid. Regardless of whether or not my middle name is Charlton I'm a Charlton fan and always have been.

Enjoy your 15 minutes of fame you utter oddball and pull yourself together ffs.

    Back to ignore mode.

We've been wondering why Muir would be having any trouble putting the money together for this. What if HE is the one the EFL disallowed and the rest of the consortium are trying to put the money together to salvage the takeover?

Muir and others have plenty of money, they're not struggling to fund the takeover themselves - they don't want to. The investors have pooled their funds to spread the risk. Buying a 3rd division football club and taking it to the Premiership is a high risk strategy that has a good chance of failing. By getting a consortium in place the potential losses and gains are diluted - reducing the risk. I think Swansea did something similar very successfully and only declined when the consortium sold (though I might be wrong on that bit). They were certainly considered a very well run club for a number of years.

If what we are hearing about two investors being declined by the EFL is true, then I expect a number of conversations in the background are happening re whether the other investors will stump up more cash (and therefore increase their risk exposure), whether they can find new investors to replace the funding, or whether RD will lower the price and therefore reduce the risk to the same levels previously accepted. To do this RD may decide to invest further in Charlton and clear the first charge debts on the assets (£7mil) in order to lease the valley and training ground as a long term revenue stream to compensate for a lower sale price than he finds acceptable. This seems a logical step for both parties if they can't find the right funding and risk exposure, even if it is a truly unpalatable thought for us fans.
By Jove you have hit the nail right on the Swede

You have posted it in a much better way than I have tried to

    Doff my cap to you
An investor connected to a British club had to pull out because of those connections. A new investor is nearly in place. They’ll be buying the club and the ground.
So right now the aussies ain’t got the dough

And like i told you on Thursday if they get it in place before the deadline then they can do the deal

If they can’t then they are negotiating on the ground and training ground

All day you’ve been telling me I have been fed lies yet all a long you had been told they still haven’t secured the final investor and that NLA was correct
You can't argue with that, because it's true.

My god. Just when you think this thread can't get any worse. Did I really just waste half an hour getting up to date with this shit? Totally depressing. JS doesn't do himself any favours, but some of those piling in on him have really shown themselves up as complete tossers today. I'm moving towards the Off It camp.

THIS deserves a promote as best post of the entire day.

    With a bit of luck.

NLA can you stop posting rubbish like the Aussies haven't got the cssh becaise Muir obviously has. What the consortium has is a well structured business plan with budgeted investment and shared risk. If a hedge fund offered you 6% would you sink all your money in or a fraction then see how things go? Too many poor football owners fail due to open cheque bookd.

Yes Muir may have the cash to buy Charlton, but he's not going to spend it,( unless he changes his mind) or the sale would already be completed.
No different to RD being minted and not wanting to splash the cash in a sensible manner.
The Queen could buy Charlton possibly a hundred times over but she's not going to.
It doesn't matter how much money Muir has to buy Charlton if he's not going to use it to buy Charlton !

    Cool it.......the pair of you.

He called you a troll for daring to ask about Muir...… twice!
Why would you even do that?? Wrong.
Because you mention 'someone wanting to know if Muir was in the UK' and then happened to mention that posters name.

If you want to identify someone, then use the #name otherwise old gits like me get confused.
Mate, we're all old gits, it's just that I'm not a very nice one ;-)

I'd much rather we all met in the pub to discuss this stuff (sorry Henners and afka) and I'm sure we wouldn't get involved in these shenanigans.

But all this 'The Aussie model' stuff.... oops.
What time does Makro car park open in the morning

  • Don't stay up too late chaps, England needs you tomorrow!
  • And the deadline is next week for many things including your kids mates dads mob to find the cash or the only other alternatives are to walk away or like they asked RD if they can lease the groundxand training ground

Now nothing you post again will hold water because you hold back all your info and only let out what you think will buy you and the Aussies credibility

    Shame on you sir

what date and time is this deadline? Next week doesn’t suffice.

Next week large there is a deadline for decisions to be made on both the debt and the takeover I put it out there about 20 pages agp

J block mentioned Elliot said watch this week

I said Thursday I expect us to know one way or other by next week
You are presumably aware that various ex-directors will not take a hit - as is Roland - so I’m not sure what you mean by a deadline on the debt. That isn’t going to change.
Those directors can’t sit on the offer for ever so it’s a deadline to answer

You know as well as I do if they don’t sell then the ground and training ground can’t be leased back

So either RD drops the price or the Aussies find the needed investment or the directors sell

This all has to conclude soon hence the deadline

No mate because as a man who likes a bet I wouldn’t lay one bean on it coming off

But this has to end soon or as a football playing team we will be fucked if it don’t

    It is not rubbish.

Why not? Muir has the money to buy us on his own but he is a successful businessman for a reason. They are just spreading the risk around. One of those sharing the risk was rejected by the EFL because of links to another Club. So now they are looking for a replacement investor. If NLA was to say that LargeAddick doesn’t have the money to conclude a deal he’d be right, just, but to say the Aussies don’t have the money is plainly wrong, they have it but are just not stupid enough to want to spend it.
You're splitting straws for no good reason.
    Let's be precise.
It would appear that as of right now, The Aussies do not have enough cash that they are prepared to invest to buy Charlton outright.

(It doesn't matter if Muir has millions he is not prepared to spend on Charlton, so what ?
RD also had millions he wasn't prepared to spend sensibly on Charlton).
