As a Sussex supporter, I'm hoping for a draw, although you have to fancy Middlesex if Kent play without Henry and Stevens. That exciting win over Warwickshire has clearly taken its toll. I'm heading to Canterbury on Wednesday to see what's what.0

Here’s hoping Billings bats long over the next few days and finds some form for Saturday. If we can add him firing on all cylinders into the white ball side, Saturday could be quite entertaining.1

As luck would have it, I've got a meeting in Canterbury tomorrow and being a Middlesex man, I shall be sneaking along for the day/night Championship game.
It will be my first visit to Canterbury since two in quick succession in 1985 (one as a player and the other to see Charlton v Lords Taverners! Alan Curbishley had Mike Denness caught at slip by Derek Ufton, Lennie Lawrence kept wicket and Mark Aizlewood bowled leg-breaks).2 -

I played at The St Lawrence Ground Canterbury in 1985 too, on Live Aid day in fact. We played The Mote as it was Maidstone Cricket Week and Kent were at Mote Park. Umpired a pink ball U19s league match yesterday. Team bating first made 15 (and no, I didn't give a single decision!) That's a weak looking bowling attack, Claydon (for all his faults) being injured doesn't help.

Stewart was bowling brilliantly on Saturday at Beckenham - hooping both ways.
