Vale. Though like Palace that forms part of the name, rather than being a suffix, so I don't usually count that.0

Sorry not a league club.0

Some of them aren’t ADDITIONAL to the ones in England. So you can’t have four of them.SheffieldRed said:Morton

That’s 90 -
Yeah, but you didn’t read the question properly...SheffieldRed said:+county so at least 12 in Scotland

Some obvious one's that has been forgotten about because you don't really associate them with a last name...
(Crystal) Palace
(Sheffield) Wednesday
(Leyton) Orient
Then some others I thought about
(Port) Vale
(Stevenage) Borough
(MK) Dons0 -
Woops! That's what I get from not following the whole thread.0
-
-
And I clearly didn’t read the whole thread either!0
-
I will concede, on reflection, that there are 7 ADDITIONAL last names in Scotland, not 6. I think.
Also, due to the source I used listing Stevenage BOROUGH as simply Stevenage, there are 21 last names in England.
Apologies. I am appropriately ashamed...0 -
Which country has lost the most world cup games?0
-
Think Stevenage dropped borough. But may have kept boro as a nickname1

I think Stevenage have dropped the Borough bit actually.lordromford said:I will concede, on reflection, that there are 7 ADDITIONAL last names in Scotland, not 6. I think.

Fair enough. Looks like Borough is out and it’s still 20 in total.9goalswentpastperry said:

Ok, spoiler alert if still playing, but if you’re wondering, here are the 20 (+
67 in Bonnie Scotland)...
England:
Albion
Alexandra
Argyle
Athletic
City
County
Dons
End
Forest
Hotspur
Palace
Rangers
Rovers
Stanley
Town
United
Vale
Villa
Wanderers
Wednesday
+ additional Scots names:
Academical
Fife
Midlothian
Morton
Park
South
Thistle
Incidentally, until recently we also had:
Orient
Redbridge
which could feasibly be back next year, or we may see some new additions like:
Moors (Solihull Moors)
Waterlooville (Havant and Waterlooville)
Wood (Boreham Wood - yes, two words)
There are plenty of other unique names in the divisions below the National league, so we’ll be waiting at least 2 years for any of those.
Which leads me to a follow up question....
There’s another last name that has been in the football league this century which is now floundering 2 divisions below the league, in the 6th tier.
Can you name the team?

Surely some of those are place names IE Fife0
-
Yeah, I agree - I didn’t count it originally because I, (like you I think,) viewed East Fife as a similar case to St Mirren, for example. But I didn’t explicitly say East Fife wasn’t allowed, hence I added it in later.Henry Irving said:Surely some of those are place names IE Fife

No. They’re in the 6th tier, but not played in the league this century.SheffieldRed said:Bradford Park Avenue
