    Hopefully it's Russia next. They are 4-4-2, which suits us. Croatia are 4-2-3-1, with Modric as the number 10. More difficult.

    Job done - and without any heart attacks along the way. Well done the whole team. Now we can sit back and enjoy Russia and Croatia kicking lumps out of each other! Not sure who I'd prefer us to face on Wednesday. I reckon we're capable of beating either of them without too much drama.

    France or Belgium however....

    I have been less than complementary about this team so far, as I'm sure certain posters will be keen to remind me. Nonetheless I'm delighted we continue to progress through the competition.
    Up until now, I'm puzzled how we have got so far. We have shown little bite, desire or skill. (I didn't see the Panama game)
    Today was such an improvement we looked much better all round. Pickford was superb and kept us in the game a couple of times. Sterling continues to frustrate, he works so hard, makes great runs, but has no idea how to finish.
    Hopefully Kane will be fit for the semi-final.

    Southgate putting the team before individuals, no injured players or "big" names having to play, just the team that matters.

    Croatia will be different, assuming it's them but we have a great chance, they, or Russia, will have to worry about us.

    And this is a young squad, they could be even better in euro 2020 and world cup 2022.

    1:15am and I'm just sitting here in almost disbelief. I have a BBC feed that was perfect until it died 2 minutes after the end of the game. I hope it's back for the 3am semi-final as I'm not sure how I'll cope with Japanese commentary (I'm on holiday there right now). I should go to bed but I'm still buzzing inside. At this rate I'll be watching Russia v Croatia!
