We are at our best fighting back against the odds, we've done that for years

Thanks for the comments on the OS today. It must have been an interesting few weeks. Were you completely surprised that the pulled out, or did you get an inkling in the last few days that it was not going to end in an formal offer?0 -
what i have always wondered is why the proposed deal was released before it was signed and sealed. But whatever happens nice to be part of a club where the top brass sign up to a fans website - even if they don't have much imagination on aliases - lol0

I'm sure you will find some of the threads on here interesting reading. The guys who have set up this site and run it for love in their spare time, AFKA Bartram (Danny) and Lookout (Adam) have set something up which has become part of our lives. Naturally there are all shades of opinion about the manager/the team etc, the future but as supporters we have an indomitable spirit much of which is forged though adversity. Reading many of the posts yesterday, though most were tinged with natural disappointment, that spirit shone through and I felt the pride that comes with being an Addick.
I also felt a pang of sadness for those in charge at Jabeel that, whatever their reasons for pulling out of the deal, they have let something unique slip through their fingers. It would have been a great journey for them as well as us.0 -
Welcome aboard, I doubt many club Chairman would join a fans forum, hats off to you MR C.
PS....You'll get to realise this as you go along on here, I'm always right, the others are always wrong, especially that AFKA fella :-)

Derek... You say that you found out on Wednesday morning..do you think that the terrible performence on Tuesday night had anything to do with there decision, Could it have been that they thought we were a million miles away from the premeirship,lots of us commented on that possibility after the game.
If that had something to do with there decision then my dissapointment at them pulling out has been replaced with joy that there now nothing to do with the mighty Addicks.0 -

Del Boy......Did you really feel these guys were interested from the word go?
If so I find it very strange they pulled out.....one has to think it was never their intention.
Not blaming you or the guys for one moment as hindsight is a fine thing....but it now seems(as unpalatable as it may seem) quite a possibility.
If you are now begining(like a good few of us), to lean in that direction of thinking then why did they do it....what game were they playing and what could be gained from such a ploy?0 -

It was a good effort Derek - and it was fun for us whilst it lasted.
A lot of us were sure it wasn't going to happen and it's a case of nothing lost nothing gained.

Derek I don't know if my comment on the thread titled "2 hours on" had anything to do with you signing up but I would say that I feel the unique relationship between the board and the fans has dwindled over the past 5 seasons,if you can come on and answer questions every now and again it can certainly help re-build them bridges.0
