There is no actal 'deadline', but the comment 'a couple of difficult weeks ahead' etc was made two weeks ago today. I'm clinging on to the hope that something might happen this week, but of course it probably won't @Goonerhater

I don't think the Aussies are wasting time. More likely they have made their offer and are sticking with it. Question is will RD get fed up with all the abuse he gets from us and the media, plus having to pay the bills. After next week he will be unable to sell the players, until January. Maybe the twat will finally give up and sell next week.

I very much doubt that Roland gives a toss about what we say on an insignificant (to most people) forum about how he runs our club. You can insult him (verbally and in print) till the cows come home. Like most of his ilk he has a skin as thick as a Tiger tank so it's a pointless exercise.
At the expense of repeating myself......he’s fundamentally a sociopath.

Im sure i read Something he said recently regarding his tenure in football was that social media platforms play a big part in the football philosophy and he found that interesting.

Wouldn't mind betting that social media is now his number one obsession and he is planning some mad brained money making idea on that front.
I would suggest that he secretly skulks in the background of this forum having a little chuckle to himself whilst helping him to find little ways to twist the knife.

I thought there was more to the Usmanov rumours than just that ‘sighting’ could be wrong though. I’ve heard it a few times.

What about a dream scenario - Usmanov has always been on the investment side of things, because the Arsenal deal has been mooted for a while. Maybe that deal has been taking a little longer. Paperwork was submitted to EFL with Usmanov named, knowing he's not out of Arsnal yet, but will be. Basically it's all good to go ready but 'rejected' until dual interest is settled. RD knows this too and technically while the money isn't there, it will be. To use the house buying, we're in a chain of sale. So all talk of a secondary interest etc can be true, because it can always fall through or be gazumped, but likelihood all are agreed to just wait. But that takes time. It can't be talked about because of both NDA on us AND Arsenal. So this difficult two weeks is A) they have been aware it'll be happening but still waiting for the AFC shares sale to be agreed and made public. B) Aussies aware we're all getting twitchy but they can't do anything about it. C) RD is minimising his outlays, now it's unlikely there will be any major sales like a Lookman or Konsa now. D) The transfer deadline is annoyingly close by coincidence, so whereas they expected this to be done early 2018 or after the playoffs, they have been waiting for what they have always know was likely to happen. Just, like us they have been waiting longer than expected. Because it's not just been their business plans that have been an influence, also Arsenal.
Maybe Usmanov would like the idea of being more influencal than he is at Arsenal, and for less outlay. All without 'moving' from London.
I'm obviously guessing. But hey, a man can dream.....

    Article from earlier today:
The indications from the close to Usmanov, however, suggest he is more likely to look at other Premier League or European clubs rather than switch his attention to Goodison Park.
That doesn't sound like us :disappointed:
Regardless of the significance of the Arsenal sale to the future finances at Everton – and it this stage there appear to be none - it is unlikely to be the last time Usmanov is linked to an English club.

The reason Usmanov gives for getting out of Arsenal is that his 30% doesn't give him any control. For that reason, joining a CAFC consortium would make no sense unless a democratic form of control was written into the deal. But thinking, OK dreaming, further, what if Usmanov has seen the Abramovic visa writing on the wall and instead of Israel he prefers a new home in Oz ? So buying into the Aussies cunning plan gets him brownie points when it comes to making his visa application and everything becomes much more logical.

No ? Ok, I'll go back to dreaming !

They've survived at least three rumours that it's 'definitely' or 'officially' off, and each time it hasn't been, so why wouldn't I believe/hope it's still on? Anyway, there doesn't seem to be a viable alternative, at the moment at least.

Pushing our/your luck if you were to drop GM a text asking what the latest is @JamesSeed?

Would give anything for chink of light in this tunnel of despair.

  • Shaun Harvey heads up the EFL. I'm sure it's not difficult to work out his email address.

    What exactly would he do?

Look at the mess at Blackpool and the EFL have done absolutely nothing. This was a comment when they met with Blackpool fans.

"The meeting began with Harvey issuing an overview of the EFL, what it is and what its main objectives are - a presentation that lasted almost 30 minutes. He then outlined the background to the Owners’ and Directors’ Test and explained why Owen Oyston is considered fit and proper to own a club, while Belokon is currently banned under the EFL’s rules. Harvey made it clear the test only seeks to determine eligibility, not capability.

If they see no reason to kick convicted rapist Oyston out, we've got no chance with Roly.
