Excellent read need to check the spelling.

I expect you're right there Welsh Addick - which is especially bad as I've been moaning about the club's proof reading ;-)
If anyone spots any particular errors, I'd love to know so that I can correct them. The trouble I've found with doing your own proofreading is that you read what you think you've written rather than what's really there.3 -
Interesting stuff, but I don't think that it's true that we were not on TV between '47 and '66. There's definitely footage around (centenary DVD?) of a 50s game v Man C (complete with commentary by the great and still-alive Cliff Michelmore)
And there were other games, as shown here (you need to scroll down to the bit on Sports Special on BBC) http://homepage.ntlworld.com/carousel/ITV/ITVfootball55-68.html0 -
Should be Sampdoria not Sampadoria0

Thanks very much @redlanered much appreciated. The offending entry has been removed.0

Thanks to you also @WelshAddick corrected now :-)0

Excellent reading @stig and some good memories there, well done look forward to the rest.1

Superb stuff Stig.1

Good work Stig. Once all seven sections are joined up, it’ll rival the Bayeux tapestry … (but it’ll be more interesting - and important of course).2

Great stuff Stig! Had I read it earlier I would have told you in person this afternoon!1

39-57 1941 kit white shorts not sorts. Interesting read and the correction is just trying to help, not a pedantic comment0

Wonderful stuff. Just one JS correction: he was sacked on 3rd Sept ‘56, not 1st. Resulted in my mum going into labour 3 weeks early because of the shock.Stig said:I've been working on a set of historical timelines that chart the history of the club on a year by year basis. Five are done with two to go. If anyone is interested, you can see them from here:

His sacking was front page news at the time, unusual for a ‘sports’ story.0 -

May I suggest a title for 2014 to present?
"The painful plunge into insignificance and obscurity"0 -
Thanks very much for the feedback James. I've added a correction.JamesSeed said:

Re-doing the chart will need a big change in motivation though. The sort of motivation that will only come with a change in club ownership.3 -
Apologies if this question is in the wrong thread, please move it if there is a correct one for questions.
During Charlton's first season in the Southern Suburban League Eastern section (1911-12) it is recorded that we won 19 games and only lost 1.
Does anybody know who beat us that season in the SSL?1 -
