Vernon Roper RIP
Airman Brown

West Sussex & Brighton supporters’ group organiser, very much the driving force behind Valley Express from Worthing, Brighton and Crawley, stalwart home and away supporter despite increasing mobility issues - but mainly all-round good bloke who would do anything he could to help. He’ll be much missed.

Very sad news.
I'm sure many who didn't know him would recognise him as the fan with the colourful Mohican haircut.

Good memories of him on the coaches to away games as well. RIP. As Airman said good bloke who you could always have a decent chat with.0

Was always around - often in a group of people. Seemed well liked. Shame. RIP.0

Sat in the first few rows of the North Upper, often with crutches?

Met him a few times when I used to get the Valley Express from East Grinstead. Always very friendly and seemed to be a great character.

Had no idea that is who he was. Used to see him as he sat quite near me. Seemed a pleasant chap from my limited conversations with him.
Not particularly old either.

RIP Vernon.
Saw him at Plumpton races a few times in the last few years when I was on a corporate day and he always had a Charlton badge or other such memorabilia.0 -
