In response to all the when did you feel so low - This was it just caused by a football game not by Selhurst not by Upton Park turmoil just by a game:

Moore 19 / 73 / 87
McBride 21
Towner 51

    I think it was only the second time I have ever left early. When Moore scored their fifth. I know it was only a few minutes but I generally always stay to the bitter end.

    I was happy after 11 minutes then it all went down the toilet.

    It was the second game after we signed Simonsen, and CAFC didn't let on he was injured until just before the game which upset a few people. Seem to remember Steve White got sent off for us, and Tony Towner ran riot for them. Of course, when we signed him two years later he was useless. Mark Hulyer, who was chairman, then took Ken Craggs out for dinner to show his faith in him, but changed his mind on monday and sacked him. About the same time someone asked Ken Bates if his manager was safe, old Ken replied "He's not getting a meal if that's what you mean".

    I went to Ibiza the following summer (before it was trendy - it was a dump IMO) and had two Rotherham fans taking the p*ss singing "Ronnie Moore, Ronnie Moore etc, etc" at me and my mate all the way back to our hotel one night. We had no defence (a bit like saturday), and it was the next day before I remembered they had got relegated which I could have thrown back at them. Bloody cheap beer.

    The first time i walked out of a ground before the final whistle. Was 4 1 at the time, and didn't have a clue it was 5 1 until i walked into my nans. I was only 9 at the time, and my grandad had seen enough. Had no choice but to go.

    Only walked out of a ground once since and that was when we lost 2 0 at Upton Park against Millwall in 1992.


    Just waiting for that Huddersfield moment. To dream. :-)

    The front page of the programme had a picture of Simmo on it, which I got signed. It's still about somewhere at my mum and dads

    Boring. You old gits and your tall tales from the days when the valley were trenches carved out of mud with yer grannys bare hands as all the men were at the front make me sick. Get with the times oldsters.
