[cite]Posted By: Off_it[/cite]Some of you people are just never happy are you?

I told you we would get at least a point when everyone else was slashing their wrists and we did. A point is a point is a point.

Think I'll leave you to it now, this place just depresses me sometimes.

agree. have a nice evening off_it.
reading some of this back and seeing the change in emotions - apart from the sarcasm of some - makes depressing reading. pretend the last 2 goals didn't happen. a point is a point.

I wasn't expecting a point so it least it's progress and we have shown a bit of fight. Let's keep the same team (injuries permitting). However, when Pards has put on more 'firepower' we seem to have more threat.

at the end of day...... up until 15/20 mins to go we were awful..... that is not good enough I am afraid.
Apparently it was a controversial penalty and as the guy said on SKY who was reporting on the game, wehn it went 1 1, he stated Plymouth only have them selves to blame - See again we only play for 10-15 mins per game !!

Yes, Off It you are right : ''A point is a point is a point.''

Just so long as nobody calls it a 'turning' one.

[cite]Posted By: Valleyman[/cite]True, but when you go 2-1 up in the second minute of injury time the fact you were losing 20 mins before is a bit irrelevant, you just need to take the ball to a corner flag and play out time.
We tried that against Millwall at the Den in the late 80s. We were 2-1 up with a couple of minutes to go and Morts lost the ball by the corner flag, and Millwall went straight up the other end and scored.
  • exactly. it looks like the players haven't thrown the towel in yet so why should we.

Obviously we should have held on in those circumstances and it feels like a defeat but there are some positives:

    1. We gained 1 point
    2. We scored 2 goals
    3. We fought back when losing (extremely rare)
  • up 2 places at the moment come on brizzle city
  • i thought it was gordon watson who lost the ball when running the clock down at the den.

Come onnn.. you're all disappointed. I am too, but if Pardew can get the players to see the result as a positive rather than a negative (as the match statistics seem to suggest) then you can only see it as a good thing.

I don't care if he says in 5mins time it's the turning point in our season, as long as he makes the players believe it.
  • i just worried it could have a bad bad effect on players desperate for a win.

but what if we could play a whole game like we played the last few minutes at Plymouth or Ipswich?

I was there, we were 2-0 up with 5 mins to go - Copper told me our capitulation probably saved our lives!!!

As for conceding in injury today, yes its disappointing, as it would have been for Arsenal to have drawn 4-4 with Spurs the other week and Liverpool losing to Spurs in injury time last week, it happens to better teams than us so be thankful they did not come back and score a third and rejoice in our first point for ????

Penalty and a goal from a set piece, yet again our only way of scoring, even though most of our set pieces are poor.

We've been very poor recently, but we still managed 3 draws against Burnley/Ipswich and Plymouth. Not all hope is lost. Very inconsistent league again this year. We're 3 wins off a play off place which although looks unlikely shows that if we can get our act together then we could soon be moving in the right direction.
