    YES

Admitedly he hasn't played well this season but on form he is one of the best goalscoring midfielders in the division. Depends on who his replacement is but bad move for me.
  • Hardly going to miss him ,wait and see who we bring in as a replacement before we make judgement

I am, especially when the replacement is Lloyd Sam

Hasn't lived up to his potential. Technically one of our better players, but goes missing alot of the time. But still probably our best player in an attacking sense so when we're struggling for goals we are letting him go. Which is strange.

Very similar to when Lisbie left as neither really did it when here but it would be no shock if Ambrose improved, as Lisbie has done since leaving.

Created the most goals for us last season and chipped in with a fair amount of goals.

    Think we'll notice his absence.

we are letting him go cos of wages, not sure we are getting a fee, him and ZZ will be gone by the window if not sooner in preparation for more cuts in the summer.

Not surprising given that he is in the last year of his contract - at least it might mean that, if he plays well, we could get some money for him come January.

That said, on his day he's probably our player with the most quality and is capable of getting a goal after doing nothing for most of the game.

Will be interested to see who the replacement is, because we haven't exactly struck gold with Bouazza, Cook, Sinclair and co.
  • dont think it is a big loss.

Were in a relegation fight and he goes missing far to much

I do not see this as a loss, I have never been his biggest fan, like others have said, if his replacement is an imporvement then it is a non issue, we didn't miss him Saturday.
  • agreed, now is the time for fighters not fancey dans, 11 Nicky Baileys and we will be fine.

Pards has said that he has been loaned out to allow for replacements.

Ambrose was never one of my favourite players. Yet whenever I seem to really get annoyed by his presence on the pitch he scores.

I am not that bothered that he has gone, more annoyed that he never seemed to acheive what he was obviously capable of.

loan(s) perhaps, but not signings I would imagine.
  • On current form it's not a big loss, but when he starts scoring goals and playing well for Ipswich there will be people on here saying we should never have let him go.

I know you gave up your ST, but have you seen him this season?

    He's 'King Cack

I've nickednamed him Darren Nandos Coz he's a chicken when it comes to putting his foot in

He infuriates me but I like him. Even though he often did not deliver he still makes me expect something every time he gets the ball unlike a lot of the players we are left with
  • When he plays in his best position in the middle just behind the strikers he is a very good asset in this division.

    Needs must financially I suppose.

The only problem is, He is never on form.

  • Ambrose is another case of a player with talent and ability that we have failed to get the best out of. On form this season, he won't be missed, but I agree with those who say he will probably do much better in a different environment. It seems we will be gambling on the unknown again rather than working at getting the best out of what we have...one of these days one of these gambles has to pay off, doesn't it???

I thought he was a fantastic signing when we picked him up. Everyone was banging on about him at Ipswich but it never seemed to work out for him at Newcastle. Then he came to us and I thought we'd have a gem. Instead we got a no-mark.

What Weegie said, with the addition that any prospective replacement needs a bit of "oomph" and robustness neither of which were Darren's best attributes.

This is a physical league, the only way we look likely to leave it this season is through the trap door to league 1, so to survive we need physical players who are prepared to battle and fight even if they lack a little in quality.

    Kishishev rather than Danny Murphy.

Pleased he's going. Seems a nice lad but has singularly failed to impress me other than on 2 occasions and then only for 45 minutes at a time. I'm just totally fatigued with watching him fanny about generally doing f-all to aid our cause. I'd rather watch a million Luke Varneys missing a million open goals than watch someone like Ambrose doing something worthwhile once every four games and then going completely missing for the interviening 359 minutes.

I think he'll be missed, so many people moan about the lack of goals and chances the team is creating but as soon as possibly our most creative player is on the way out everyone seems to "not be bothered". The inclusion of another "clogger" isn't going to open up defences I tell you that now. I do agree however that he hasn't blossomed in this evironment and will probably play a blinder elsewhere.

The only thing that bothers me ......... is that we are again, no doubt, sacrificing quality for quantity.

The player with a decent first touch, good passing range, shooting ability, football intelligence and vision is steadily becoming an endangered species at Charlton.

I was mainly thinking about loans and lower division strikers, Salad. Agree Bailey looks a promising signing,as does Hudson - I have the feeling that we did our homework properly on those two. My concern is when we gamble in a panic as per Cook/ Sinclair or take a punt on an unproven striker a la Dickson/ Fleetwood...

He may have scored and made goals, but he was also responsible for a fair few conceded.

He's obviously wanted to go back to Ipswich for a while and with him being out of contract at the end of the year it makes sense to offload now and try and get someone in who will have an impact on most games we play, not one in five.

I'm not sad to see him go.

Could be a resonable enough player in a decent side.............but we aren't at the moment and he's not a leader of men by any stretch of the immagination................which is what we badly need right now.
