Ressies at Millwall have named a 'Harte' in the defence.

Not heard the name before is it one of our youngsters or a trialist.

Ian Harte?

Not sure about that one but Darren Powell is in the line up again. I wonder how that Ales Besta's trial is going?
  • Harte is playing left back and by the sounds of it could well be him.

    One down at half time
  • both him and powell having good games

Ian Harte was released by Sunderland in the summer, turned down a short term contract with Wolves, currently training with Leeds until he finds a club. Trialing him and Powell smacks of desperation and shows more than anything how far we have fallen in a relatively short space of time.

They might make mistakes but I'd prefer to see Youga or Basey any day of the week.

Oh dear, the words barrel and scraping spring to mind...maybe you could ask some questions about this tomorrow?
  • takes a mean corner and free kick somthing we have lacked for years, looked great back in his leeds days and never let us down when playing for Eire. other clubs have been 'looking at him' and let him go. maybe on a play as u play deal would work, i wouldnt mind having him at left back with Basey or Yougs further forward.

peter osgood looked good in his Chelsea days.......but I wouldn't have him upfront now !

  • Harte isint as old as osgood, he is a free agent there would be no transfer fee so worth a look considering the hole we are in at the moment, if he scored a free kick to keep up no one would be slagging him off. Give the guy a break, im just sticking up for my fellow countrymen and trying to be positive.

I was alluding to the comment that he "looked good in his leeds days"......when was that - 5 yrs ago ?

Andy Cole looked good 5 ys ago - and he's just retired !

We may want experienced players, but not old ones !

Sorry Adam but these sort of players can not find a club for a reason,if this is the sort of player Pards is thinking of bringing in you find more people getting a tad upset

Again lads just sticking up for a fellow Paddy. Whoever comes in we have to get behind them and back them and back pards instead of writting people off before they have even kicked a ball in a red shirt.

ha ha - we have destroyed Ian Harte and there is a good chance it's all over a typo!!!

In fairness though - I always liked Harte but he was never blessed with pace! (though nor was Chrissy Powell)

In Harte was doing alright till he decided to go to Spain for a few years. Seemed to have ruined him. Still probably just as good as Basey/Youga.

Plus he has a pretty good left foot on him

LOL. That really is funny, according to our OS Arter is playing so it defo looks like a typo.

He's supposed to be playing(Harry Arter)...according to the OS..so could well be a typo and a misunderstanding.

    all over, 2-0

Peter Osgood died 2 years ago.

No, you wouldn't get him up front now!

EDIT: ha ha, Bing .... I wrote my post 15 mins ago, but got bogged down in work calls before I could send!
Bloody job .... always gets in the way of a session on Charlton Life.

Apparantly he got forward once - it was a Charlton Harte attack
