Fantastic result, Phillips made some important saves first half, Williams kept us ticking imo.
Grant, pure pace, lovely skill. Just a little more composure.
Best ive seen Pratley play for us, cracking goal
Back 4 solid, felt the new lb grew into the game after a nervy start

We didn't even have a shaky spell like we always do. That was pure unrelenting dominance. Here's to the rest of the season9

Superb away win, and a big bonus that none of the top 3 sides won.3
-
Grant should have the match ball at the end of that, poor finishing throughout the match, but everything else in his play was wonderful.
Pratley isn't a fashionable player, and gets quite a bit of stick on here, but he showed today why he is a valuable member of the squad.
Top 3 all dropping points, we're one of the form teams of the league and have a squad capable of top 2, just need to keep rolling on and see where we end up25 -
A very good day for us, after a very good week really
ignoring the takeoverwith a new LB and keeper signed1 -
How many are Grant and Taylor on now?0

Lovely display from the lads especially in the second half
Despite taking a 1-0 lead into the break I thought we were a bit lucky and whilst we didnt start as slowly as we did against Sunderland I thought there were a few occasions where we had our backs too the wall a bit too often - Phillips certainly showed why he deserved his spot in goal with a lovely save to ensure that Shrewsbury didnt get a lead to sit back on.
Second half though and Charlton were once again the only team in the game, we completely dominated the half and should have had about six goals - You could argue that Grant was a bit wasteful in front of goal, yet like Bowyer's comments when Taylor missed a penalty against Rochdale; I'd like to think that Karlan wasnt wasteful yet instead just came up against a Goalkeeper who had his number, as @Sage mentioned in the match comments, its sometimes going to happen for both Grant and Taylor where they cant find a goal, the fact he kept getting chances was credit to his game!!
As for Bowyer must have been nice getting one over a Shrewsbury side who werent exactly graceful towards him last season
As I mentioned on the Match Thread, with results going our way this could slowly see a Blackburn style run of form from us which slowly sees us close down the automatic spots as we go on an undefeated run - Of course we still need a few injuries to come back whilst hoping those that are fit remain so, not to mention there is a long way to go but we shouldnt give up hope until its truly gone24 -
What a terrific convincing win, bring on accrington. Top 6 easy, top 2, a very good chance.7

Thanks to all the contributors on the match thread.
That’s a cracking result and it will put a smile on Ms AA’s face a bit later.0 -

Only caught the last 20 mins and we were cruising.
I take it the new additions made a good impression?0 -
Very enjoyable watching from afar. Great team performance. Felt like Williams had been there forever. Particularly unselfish of Taylor to let Grant take the pen - important for his confidence after the 1on1 misses.
Now just need Roland to get lost...12 -
We’re better without Reeves, aren’t we ? Can’t wait for Cullen and Aribo to come back- we could be very good4

Haven't seen it but sounds like a well deserved win.
Our away form has let us down this season so far so an important win, especially as Pompey, Luton, Sunderland and Doncaster all dropped points.
And we still have Cullen to come back next week.0 -
Some teams are so unpredictable. Blackpool beat us, get 1 point from the next 5 games, then win at Pompey!0

Grant has 13 goals and 5 assists, all in the league.20 -
On a further note it remains frustrating that everyone around us has a game in hand yet that looks to be wrapped up by mid-February
Although none of them appear to be that easy
As a break down
Portsmouth and Luton both have a game in hand on us: (Tues 29th Jan: Luton v Portsmouth)
Sunderland have two games in hand (12th Feb: v Blackpool and 19th Feb v Gillingham both at home)
Barnsley also have two games in hand (29th Jan v Oxford (A) and one other which hasnt been confirmed yet)5 -
I still think Portsmouth will win the title but if we can play the rest of the season like we did today, we’ve got to be in with a shout at second.killerandflash said:Some teams are so unpredictable. Blackpool beat us, get 1 point from the next 5 games, then win at Pompey!

I’ll do a write up of my thoughts tomorrow morning, so I’ll enjoy doing that.
But for now, I’d like to say thank you to everyone who chipped in with the match thread, to @LTKapal for allowing us to watch it, to the fans who travelled all the way up Shrewsbury, and of course to the players and staff who worked hard to get us 3 vital points with a great performance.
For me, a quick special mention to Williams who was immense, a real classy player.
I’m off out to enjoy this win today. Have a great evening all Addicks!
Come on you reds!8 -
Callum posted this already but worth it for the nutmeg by KG

I am hopeful that them signings last week will be a push to get out of this league. We cant really afford to lose many more ganes tho if we want to get top 2.
Did solly play RB today?0 -

Not convinced Portsmouth will finish top two , Ben Thompson is a big loss . Sunderland will be top two but Luton will fade . If we get a descent striker in we stand a real chance with this squad .9

Pompey are still in the FA Cup (I thought that competition had already been scrapped), which means they'll have another game to rearrange, and also the Chubby CheckerTrade Trophy.ForeverAddickted said:On a further note it remains frustrating that everyone around us has a game in hand yet that looks to be wrapped up by mid-February
