A couple of years ago if you had to pick which one of Grant or Mavididdi would be attracting bids from higher teams you would have put your house on Stephy. He’s miles better than serie A under 23 level but the stats would appear to suggest otherwise. Funny old game.ForeverAddickted said:

Time he came back for his annual hamstring pull and lay off.
Now playing for their U23 side in Serie C; has three goals in twenty for them according to Wiki0 -
At the station now, first game for my brother since Sheff U cup debacle, cant wait!
Edit, hes just reminded me he witnessed checkatrade glory at Stevenage without Taylor or Grant so were gonna win 8-0!3 -

What negotiations?? You mean his new contract. That shouldn't deter him.Southbank said:I would be very surprised if Grant starts tomorrow given all the negotiations going on.
If you mean a transfer......then you're barking up the wrong tree. He ain't going anywhere this window. Trust me.
Hope you're right mate.1 -

I would go:
...........Phillips
Solly Bauer Sarr Purrington
..........Cullen Bielik
Reeves...Williams....Fosu
...........Grant
I think Cullen and Bielik in that double pivot role could work quite well. Cullen hasn't looked the same on the right side of the diamond (admittedly, I didn't see last weekend's match). I'm not the biggest fan of Reeves playing on the right, I though he often put in a shift but drifted out of games last season, but I think there are better players behind him right now. Reeves, Fosu, and Williams as a front three is very, very strong. The only problem is the lack of running in behind. All three want to come short and want the ball to feet. You could put in Marshall on the right for Reeves to try to help with that.
Obviously Grant up front on his own isn't ideal. His play with his back to goal still needs a lot of work, and he's not great in the air. And against a pressing Peterborough we could really miss the out ball Taylor provides. But I don't think Reeco has shown that he's particularly good at hold up play, and I think we have a lot of strong attacking midfielders.2 -
Now have a spare if anyone needs?0

I suspect the Twitter rumour about Grant not travelling is from a WUM but you simply can’t be sure under Roland. Nothing should surprise Charlton supporters, famous last words but I’d be very surprised if Grant doesn’t play today.
This is a pivotal moment for us. If we sell Grant, we can probably wave goodbye to a realistic prospect of promotion and most of the best players in the team will also leave in the summer - eg. Aribo, Fosu, Bauer and Williams, plus obviously the excellent loanees like Cullen and Bielik. We’ll be faced will a total rebuilding job in the summer (not unfamiliar for us) and are highly unlikely to be competitive at the top of the table. With no money coming in, Duchatelet is also very likely to be tempted for offers for Taylor.
That is one scenario; the other is Roland waving goodbye to a fee now, with the odds of promotion probably no better than 40%. He might also (as someone said earlier on CL) going to be attracted by a negotiated sell-on fee, but I think he’s unlikely to be around at maturity, so that may be less of a factor.
On an objective basis, Duchatelet should decline any offers because he is bound to secure a much better price in the Championship than in League 1 with a hugely depleted squad - where he will struggle to find a buyer.0 -
