Sad news, I'm pretty sure he was the oldest surviving cup finalist, not just from Charlton but from all clubs.

I didn't realize that all the rounds were two legged and CAFC and Derby had to play 10 matches in getting to the final in the 45/46 season.
Arthur Turner must be unique in playing in the cup final for Charlton yet never played a League game because League football didn't restart until the 46/47 season when Arthur had moved on to Colchester.
Arthur did play 42 games for Cafc scoring 34 goals in friendly matches as England struggled to recover from the war years.
Arthur Turner was a Legend in life, with his heroic war time exploits and living to tell the tale.
Rest in peace Arthur Turner because of folk like you and my Uncle who was also a rear gunner, middle aged people like me have lived in peace.4 -
