Oh, El-Khalej really was terrible, I've seen some real duds but he was right up there. I remember him being helped off the pitch to absolute silence and one of my mates standing up and roaring "AND STAY OFF!!!" Even the people who sit in front of us who try and and find the bright side of anything Charlton serve up were nodding in agreement.

I think the song came about during the 2-1 defeat to Brum which was even worse than the previous week when we lost 6-1 to Leeds....

I remember Robbo coming on during the leeds match and absolutely tearing into him for his general all round play even at one stage having to point to him to tell him where he should be positioned

One of the worst ever centre halfs to wear a charlton shirt.

Mike Small and him would be fighting over the captain’s armband in my worst ever 11.

Jamie Stuart ranks there, Sturgess was not much better but.....
  • Surely Jonathon Fortune has strong claims in such an open field?

If JR was starting again with Charlton now, he would have been slaughtered.

    I wish I could forget....

Tom Hovi...remember him and Chapple crashing into each other just as Gabbiadini pulled the trigger to turn a 3-1 half time advantage vs Derby into a 4-3 loss. I don't think Chapple was going to get a block in anyway, but he certainly didn't after colliding with that stationary scandanavian. Old Dowman wasn't as bad as he seemed IMO, he just didn't look like a footballer. Great oggy v wednesday as I recall
