Favourite Old Skool Dinners

I’m not talking any of your international tosh or modern day scented fennel or fusion apple and chestnut broth nonsense.

Tonight had the cold cut, salty left over gammon from Sunday, two runny fried eggs, chips and HP sauce, with two slices of thick buttered bread. Absolutely sensational.

So I’m bringing gammon egg n chips to the table. Whose gonna raise me?

I didn’t like my school dinners on the day they were served me. Fairly sure I wouldn’t have liked any older than that.
I dunno what you’re talking about really...

We agree on this (although now I'm veggie it'd be either quorn or lentil shep pie).

And for total stodge fest bliss followed by apple crumble and custard.

Then sit down and doze for a while.

A typical school dinner would be fried turkey escolopes chips and beans followed by jam sponge and custard.  Totally ruined my promising ballet career.

Can't beat that - food of the gods - apart from a curry (but that didn't feature in my 70's/80's school dinner choice !!)
