Katrien Meire leaves Sheffield wednesday

  • To be fair to her we haven't really noticed what she actually brought to the table here but maybe we are looking at someone who will link up better with Bruce.

Like absolutely anyone else you mean. Hopefully this confirms what Charlton fans already knew and that's that she is miles out-of-her-depth. A one trick pony with no ability to adapt or change. Hopelessly inexperienced with zero interpersonal skills and only her own arrogance and pig-headedness keeping her from even earlier exposure. Hopefully she disappears from football now because I wouldn't wish on anyone else, she's that bad.
    Not a fan then mate?
180 most negative comments about show I am not alone! Her decision to challenge unhappy Customers head-on and argue white was black on every issue, where there was already compelling evidence to support the fans was unforgivable. She dug a hole so large she fell into it.
  • As I have 20 of these to sell I would welcome her back .......... as a programme seller
@charltonnick how much and have you got a large one, please?

  • If we take off the tinted glasses we’d see that she hasn’t done much wrong since she’s left and most Wednesday fans aren’t happy she’s gone. Shockingly not being the mouthpiece for the old bumbling idiot has allowed her to show what she can actually do. I wouldn’t be surprised if the FA do offer something.
What exactly did she do, then?
What exactly do most football CEOs do of note? Nothing that anyone is concerned about in public.
    Not true

    Ticket prices - disaster

    Shirt prices - disaster

    Promoting commercial opportunities - disaster

Being public face of club - anonymous when not promoting self

Controlling budget and FFP - disaster, SWFC under transfer ban
Apart from all that, I think she did quite well.

I take it that you will now finally remove your poster of her from your bedroom wall Joe?
  • Travelled up on the day from Exeter for home games when Meire was CEO and still got to the ground usually about 5 minutes before she arrived.
  • Am surprised that we've not had a full on BBC article complaining about her leaving Sheffield Wednesday meaning that there are now less women in Football than what there should be - They usually do it when someone like Keith Curle gets sacked from a Managerial position
    Silly comment alert.

On reflection MAYBE I was a bit too kind but when still I do believe that she isn’t quite as bad as it seemed she was when she was with us. With any luck she’ll end up in an unimportant backroom job at the FA and we’ll never have to worry or talk about her again.
I suspect if the FA employ her they’ll want her front of house.
    Receptionist?
Perhaps not something quite that responsible.

All Katrien had to do was (when Charlton CEO)

    Was just NOT be stupid.
    NOT say stupid things
    NOT display arrogance
NOT lie and be passive agressive to loyal supporters
NOT hire dodgy fake security guards to purposely grapple fans
    Be REASONABLE and understanding
Actually LIKE Charlton Athletic and warm to the history of the Club

We would have totally have had her back.

She was already looked upon as someone that had courage to do the job.
Women in football....the way forward. Give her a chance, we all said. (Without sounding patronising)

It was all in her favour....but she just made such a mess of it and ruined the opportunity

Katrien, Roland is still here. You got sacked BEFORE we got sold.

Charlton fans are not bad people. We just want what is best for the club.

Careful now, or she will accuse you of thinking about pushing her under a train.
  • The best news I've heard for a long time. Cannot stop laughing. She's been found out for what she is, a lying narcissist, much like another Belgian twat I could mention. Now just the small problem of whether or not there will be a manager or enough players to start next season.

  • The club were particularly successful in the transfer market during her tenure at the club. Nick Pope, a future England international, broke into the first team during the 2015-16 season before being sold to Burnley for £1 million.[23] Andrea Lookman was sold to Everton for a divisional record of £7.9 million during the 2016-17 season[24], having made a name for himself the previous season following a breakthrough from the club's academy

Firstly selling players is hardly sucessful

Secondly who the F is Andrea Lookman

That will be the transfer market which only covers players leaving, will it? Not the one in which dozens of unsuitable players were given foolish contracts and in many cases then had to be paid off.

    Thought so.

Was surprised Jim White missed this. Would have thought another ‘ After the news we have some exciting news for Charlton customers’ scoop was appropriate .
