Just saw that Peter Tork from the Monkees has died. Fond memories of watching the show as a kid. RIP

Great shame.
Loved the Monkees and he was a fine musician who hid his light under a bushel.1 -

Loved the Monkees! First ‘constructed’ band but still did some great stuff. First single I ever bought ‘Alternate Title’. Feeling really old...RIP Peter.2

I loved The Monkees too. I saw them at Wembley in 1967 when I was about 10 and remember coming out completely deaf because of all the screaming. Rest in peace Peter Tork.0

Really sad news. Loved watching their tv series when I was growing up. Rest in Peace Peter.0

Another one who grew up watching The Monkees, their zany humour/slapstick interspersed with some of the greatest pop songs ever. First Davy Jones and now Peter Tork.

I just put some Monkees on the old Mighty Whirlitzer. Second track up Pleasant Valley Sunday. I remember hearing this at Charlton after a sabbath win in the Premiership. Great times.1

I remember my late Dad watching The Monkees under sufferance because my sister liked it and when she asked, on numerous occasions, who his favourite was he always said Peter Tork.
Only 2 of them left now.1 -

The Monkees were a big part of my early appreciation of music. Growing up as a kid in 70s Canada they were a big thing and I remember watching their TV show. Pleasant Valley Sunday is still one of my favourite tunes.

Very sad. Had the pleasure of seeing them live three times, as a four piece for the 30th anniversary, a three piece without Mike, and just two, Davy and Mickey. Every show superb. R.I.P. Peter2
