Well... mixed views. I think it's a bit childish and completely unnecessary, and won't help things in any way.

But, if it pisses off the old ballbag, then it's quite satisfying.

Of course, if he sells the club, the vandalism will cease. Hopefully he has been provided with some incentive, though I doubt it.

Got no sympathy for RD and in fact i find it bloody funny! But it does little to strengthen our cause. Makes us look like the bad guys bullying 'poor Roland'  - Why won't he just fuck off!?

Jim White discussing this now on TalkSport, said that Roland is very upset by the vandalism but is still a willing seller of the club,he is going to put proposals to the next fans forum.
I hope his proposal is to gift the supporters half the club in a radical move to show the FA how clubs should be protected from unsuitable owners.

  • The prick deserves everything he gets.

Sell up and f**k off back where you came from.
  • we have had a fair bit of coverage in the media, and have had plenty of positive comments about the way the protests and grievencies have been handled. This wanton act of vandalism does our cause no good whatsoever, and I fear our press coverage may not be so favourable from now on.

the counter argument here is that although we have had plenty of positive comments about the way the protests and grievances have been handled........ it has got us absolutely nowhere.
A minority who are prepared to do whatever (legally or otherwise) it takes and who have clearly had enough of his procrastination are upping the anti.

    It worked at Standard....................

The question about the wisdom of this should be only one of tactics, rather than 'morals' or a sense of direct action, getting tough, whatever you call it .
I fully understand the expression of impotent rage that is on display here. Impotent rage is what I personally feel about the situation.

My biggest problem is this: Whoever did this, knows perfectly well that both CARD and ROT have been active in Sint-Truiden. Yet he/she did not bother to say to either in advance that they planned to do this. Had they consulted, they may well have learnt that in the next 2-4 weeks a carefully worked out, creative effort from one or both groups was going to hit S-T. Maybe a billboard, maybe the taxi again, something new, but equally good, and designed to get at Roland without pissing off the citizens.

Now I don't know whether in fact any of that is planned. However if those who did this, didn't consult first, that shows a lack of teamwork, and that's a pity because that teamwork has been our strength up to now.

Oh and PS, I'd be wary of claims like "It worked at Standard". It is tempting to think that. However what some of them got up to wasn't universally welcomed by the rest of them, and most worryingly, he completely fucked them over in the resulting deal. So you could say that, on the one hand, yes they scared him, but on the other, he made sure he got his revenge on them for scaring him.

Although I was against, it’s worth remembering that over a million people marched peacefully against the second Iraq war and achieved nothing, whereas the poll tax riots clearly achieved their aims.

Jim White: A MESSAGE FROM CHARLTON FANS

Tell Roland that Charlton fans expect to have the graffiti cleaned up within the next 48 hours!!

Yes, the clean up is 'imminent'.

I fear this may not end well for the 'perps' - if they are caught. However, would Roland really welcome a court case where the accused will be asked just why they committed the crime? Could rebound on him - he doesn't like publicity, especially bad publicity.

I’d say a little bit of paint on a few buildings (which from what I’ve read were all empty at the time) is less hurtful than not being able to enjoy a game of football every two weeks with your Dad that had been a ritual since you were young enough to pull off a full replica kit and not look strange.

I can’t believe someone was able to spray his teeth yellow without him noticing. Brilliant stuff.

Fuck him the old toad. Hope it’s proper pissed him off and knocked a couple of years of his existence.

    Personally think this pathetic.

I don't have any sympathy for Roland but is this the answer? Made ourselves look even more desperate and stupid IMO.

Congrats, in only a few short lines you’ve managed to call fellow Charlton fans pathetic, desperate and stupid.

Belgian police are reporting that CCTV images of the perps show a man in duct tape shoes running away from each property and jumping into a getaway food truck with the name 'Tony's Burgers' emblazoned on the side.
