I thought it was quiet and errie in the 2nd half all it needed was some supermarket music to be played over the tanoy.
  • Like that bit at the beginning of Nightmare on Elm Street? That would have been quite cool and would have freaked all the Sheff U fans right out!

to be completely honest, from where I was sitting I thought our support was virtually non-existant until they scored their fifth.

it wasn't negative, not even when we went 1-0 and then 2-1 down, just a bit eerie as was said above.

Spot on Off_it. The atmosphere was just plain weird all day. Eerily quiet, like being at somebody's funeral. Which it turned out to be. There was NO support that I could hear. Even when Primus scored, nobody around me could be bothered to get up & celebrate. I guess it depends what part of the ground you are sitting in, but the Lower North was dead today. Totally dead.

Lower North is always dead in my opinion! I am not a season ticket holder but usually opt to sit there as it's so cheap...

Today was the first time ever that I never even clapped a Charlton goal (the second). I just sat there, staring out at the pitch.
    Weird.

I was singing 'you're so sh*t we've scored against you'

I thought the support was okay in the first half, generally positive. The second half it all went a bit jelly shaped in the first ten minutes of insanity, then everyone agreed that the match made no real difference. It was no longer about what was happening on the pitch or the dugouts, it was about Charlton the club not charlton the team.
  • I found, around us at the front of J block,Upper, that after all the idiots who were shouting abuse and insults at Pardew and the team left (many after S.Utds 4th) that the atmosphere was much much better. Some of the quieter ones were even getting behind the team. Can those idiots who did NOTHING to help OUR club not come back next week ? (I don't mean the players..........)
  • There was certainly an air of "oh well.. fu*k it, lets just have a sing". I enjoyed "Are you Weaver in disguise?" when Kenny spooned a clearance, and a very passionate rendition of VFR.
  • Why do "we" clap at the end of VFR ?

I sit on halfway and could barely hear the North yesterday. Sorry, but the noise from out of there is almost never as loud as when the away end gets going - even if they've only brought five or six hundred.

You cant hear the noise produced by the north upper in the north lower let alone anywhere else in ground. The acoustics of the ground is shocking. Apart from the Jimmy of course.

Good question, it's something we must stop doing.
